All we need is you. The opportunity Southern New Hampshire University is seeking an student employee for the role of Student Assistant for Assistive Technology. You will support technical troubleshooting, accessibility remediation, product demonstrations, documentation, inventory management, and software testing. Collaborate with the team to achieve goals and develop skills in accessibility and communication.
Position Overview
The Student Assistant for Accessibility & Assistive Technology supports the campus community by helping make digital resources and learning environments accessible to all. This role is perfect for students eager to grow their technology and communication skills while making a meaningful impact.
Essential Job Responsibilities
- Assist with demonstrations of assistive technology tools for students, staff, and faculty, clearly explaining their features and benefits.
- Help update and organize documentation and guides for accessibility tools to ensure content is accurate and easy to understand.
- Track and manage inventory of assistive technology devices and equipment, ensuring everything is available and in good condition.
- Test new software and accessibility tools, reporting any issues to the team and contributing ideas for improvement.
- Work closely with team members and other campus departments to support ongoing projects and accessibility initiatives.
- Share feedback and suggestions during meetings, helping to improve processes and resources.
- Support and help lead workshops or campus events that promote inclusive practices and raise awareness about accessibility.
- Demonstrate responsibility, reliability, and a strong work ethic in all tasks.
- Be proactive about learning more about accessibility, technology, and ways to make the campus more inclusive for everyone.
- Promote an accessible and welcoming environment for all campus community members.

Eligibility and Qualifications
- Current enrollment in classes as part of a SNHU degree program
- Work study part of financial aid package
- Students with work study may be prioritized
- Maintain a minimum GPA of 2.5.
- Demonstrated interest in technology, accessibility, or educational support.
- Strong skills in communication and teamwork.
