POSITION SUMMARY:

The primary duty of the Ranch Foreman is to manage and perform maintenance activities of a working ranch near Glen Rose, TX. This is a 700+acre ranch with multiple buildings to maintain along with the property, equipment, and animals.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.




  1. Responsible for all ranch operations for safety, efficiency and cost effectiveness in a professional manner.
  2. Perform and oversee all maintenance, repairs, and cleaning of property, to include but not limited to buildings, fences, equipment, vehicles, tools, and landscape.
  3. General facility maintenance to include maintenance, repairs, and painting.
  4. Ensure that all equipment and machines are operational in a safe and professional manner.
  5. Maintain game fences, cross fences, and water gaps. Eliminate brush adjacent to improvements.
  6. Responsible for planting food plots.
  7. Oversee wildlife management practices as directed.
  8. Provide professional hospitality services to guests and owners.
  9. Oversee and perform housekeeping of all guest and ranch facilities with attention to detail to meet owners' high standards.
  10. Perform and oversee construction projects as directed.
  11. Must be professional in appearance and manners.
  12. Responsible to oversee hunting operations as directed.
  13. Maintains ponds and fish habitat.
  14. Other assignments and responsibilities as required.


Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS:




  • 5+ years of daily management of a working ranch, must have managed a similar size ranch.
  • Must have experience with ranch management and maintenance, carpentry, plumbing and electrical work, ranch machinery.
  • Must have experience pulling livestock trailers, driving tractors and similar equipment.
  • Must have experience with welding various metals (steel, stainless steel, aluminum) in outdoor conditions.
  • Must be a self-starter professional who can work independently and take initiative without needing guidance or direction from a supervisor.
  • Must be motivated, organized, and efficient, and can complete tasks with minimal supervision.
  • Must be professional in appearance and manners.



EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:

Preferred degree in Wildlife Management or Range Management.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence.

Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.

COMPUTER SKILLS:

Must be computer literate - Word, Outlook, and Excel preferred.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:

Current driver's license required

Pass DOT physical including Drug test

Background check

TX Department of Agriculture (TDA) and Private Pesticide Applicator License desired.

  • This is a position based at a working ranch. The environment will be all outdoor elements as well as inside buildings located on the property.

There are no living quarters on the property, however, this position requires being onsite at the ranch daily Monday - Friday, some weekends, with standard holidays observed
