Description:
We are seeking a caring and dependable Crisis Child Care Worker to join our team on an on-call, part-time basis. In this role, you will provide safe and nurturing care to children, assist families in crisis, and help maintain a welcoming, supportive environment. Responsibilities include direct childcare, light housekeeping, meal preparation, and connecting families with resources when needed. This is meaningful work where you'll support children and families during times of stress while ensuring their safety and well-being.

Your Role:
As a Crisis Child Care Worker, you'll provide safe, structured, and compassionate care for children while ensuring a positive and supportive environment for families. You will also help keep the home environment clean, organized, and safe, while assisting with meals, daily routines, and child development activities.

What You'll Do:

• Support Children & Families - Welcome families, provide orientation, and offer referrals to community resources as needed
• Provide Child Care Services - Plan menus, prepare and serve meals/snacks, assist with hygiene, administer medications, and ensure overall well-being
• Ensure Safety & Cleanliness - Maintain a safe, sanitary, and organized environment indoors and outdoors; respond appropriately to emergency drills and situations
• Specialized Support - Provide attentive care for children with special physical or emotional needs
• Complete Documentation - Accurately complete intake forms, progress notes, and required reports
• Follow Standards & Policies - Comply with legal, organizational, and mandated reporting requirements
• Engage in Professional Growth - Attend required training (minimum of 15 hours annually) and maintain CPR/First Aid certification
• Collaborate Effectively - Communicate openly with children, parents, staff, and community partners
• Support the Team - Perform additional duties as needed and contribute to a positive, team-oriented culture

What We're Looking For:

• Minimum 18 years of age
• High School Diploma or GED equivalent required
• At least one (1) year of experience (paid or volunteer) working with children
• Introduction to the Child Care Profession (ECI) or willingness to complete within 6 months of hire
• Bilingual (Spanish/English) strongly preferred
• Ability to work effectively with diverse groups and individuals
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
• Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office
• Must pass criminal background checks, TB testing, and physical
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed

Day-to-Day Setting:

• Work is performed in a childcare/home-like environment, requiring frequent movement, bending, and lifting.
• Must be able to lift children up to 40 pounds.
