JOB SUMMARY

Manufacturing support position with responsibilities focused upon optimizing and maintaining production processes to make quality products and reduce scrap.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Comply with Company Safety Policies and Procedures
  • Regular attendance, timeliness and scheduling flexibility
  • Perform first piece start up verification activities.
  • Set up, run, and adjust injection molding machines. Set up secondary or assembly equipment where applicable.
  • Fill out set up and process monitoring documentation when required.
  • Perform color changes, insert changes, and mold changes if required.
  • Respond to calls from operators regarding product / process questions and concerns.
  • Respond to calls from Quality Department over production quality concerns, scrap issues, adjustments required to processes.
  • Identify needed machine, maintenance, and tooling repairs and initiate appropriate work orders.
  • Participate as needed in internal problem solving/improvement group events.
  • Preform other duties assigned by Supervisors, Process Engineers, and Management.
  • Ability to communicate with all levels of associates
  • Report any and all injuries to Supervisor

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Must know how to set up, run, and adjust injection molding machines.
  • Must understand basic processing skills to adjust for defects such as splay, short shots, flash, sink, bubbles, warp, etc.
  • Must be able to set up and verify Robot End of Arm Tooling for robots where applicable and initiate proper robot programming.
  • Ability to interpret, input data, and plan using a production monitoring system.
  • Must be willing to learn new skills and processes to build capabilities such as Scientific Molding practices, methods, and procedures.
  • Must be able to manage a production work cell with minimal supervision and communicate all essential manufacturing information to appropriate personnel.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

The employee should have the following:

  • Certification or training in relevant skill or trade preferred
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 1-2 years' experience in a relevant field preferred

ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT

The employee should possess the ability to:

  • Prolong standing or other stationary positions
  • Complete repetitive movements such as typing
  • Ascend/descend stairs and ladders
  • Complete repetitive movements
  • Wear all required personal protective equipment (hearing, vision, safety shoes, hardhat, and Covid 19 mask protection)
  • Bend and/or twist
  • Lift/move/transport items up to 40 pounds
  • Move or traverse about the facilities
  • Be exposed to sounds or noise levels that maybe uncomfortable
  • Withstand exposure to temperature extremes inside or out
  • Work around dust, chemicals, and other substances, and in various environmental conditions
