GENERAL JOB SUMMARY: Performs system troubleshooting electrical avionics systems or sub-system components in a lab or field, wire harness assembly. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Repairs, modifies, tests, operates and troubleshoots avionics/electrical modules, and components.
- Responsible for engineering lab management of tool inventory, equipment firmware/software updates, organization, safety, ESD compliance, ordering lab supplies as the lead technician.
- Interfaces with engineering design and development activities.
- Builds wire harnesses per engineering drawings, order(s) prototype parts expertise with military style circular connectors. Utilizes various types of crimping tools for harness assembly.
- Constructs RF cables to include flexible and semi-rigid. Responsible for testing and verifying RF cable assembly is built to print.
- Supports testing of aircraft instruments and systems, such as automatic flight controls, inertial navigation and radios in a lab or field environment.
- Supports flight testing, prototype and pre-production assemblies and maintenance.
- Uses standard electrical measuring and diagnostic equipment.
- Provides interface to engineering design and prototyping with the manufacturing facility.

- Demonstrates proficiency at electronic assembly, soldering, crimping, splicing, harness fabrication, and control panel building.

- Requires HS diploma or equivalent.
- Requires electrical wire harness fabrication and repair experience.
- 10+ years of aviation/aircraft and/or aircraft maintenance experience.
- US Security Clearance required.

- Standing, walking, bending, reaching and working from slightly elevated surface.
- Manipulating materials and hand tools.
- Office and or manufacturing environment.

- Occasionally lifts and carries heavy objects.
- May work extended hours or weekends.
- Possibility of exposure to noise and hazardous chemicals.
- May be required to lift up to 50 pounds in accordance with KUAS General Safety Training guidelines.
