  • Demonstrates successful technical/patient skills by efficiently performing Electroneurodiagnostic studies out-patient and inpatient portables.
  • Provides age-specific care to patients.
  • Accurately completes all charge entry, database entry and any necessary registration forms.
  • Provides preliminary and final results to other medical personnel upon request.
  • Maintains equipment and recording area in a clean and operational condition.
  • Initiates and maintains positive relationship with patients/customers and co-workers.
  • Participates in training/orienting new staff.

What You Will Do

  • Instructs new technologists and other medical staff as needed or directed by EEG Lead Technologist, Supervisor, and/or Manager.
  • Actively participates in record review sessions, weekly epilepsy conference and other professional conferences.
  • Has technical expertise to autonomously utilize equipment to its fullest potential with no supervision.
  • Volunteers to perform tests when patient is not scheduled in advance.
  • Identifies focus of seizure activity and presents to physician in optimal format.
  • Suggests changes to supervisor after daily review of EEG and clinical data to optimize recording procedure.
  • Demonstrates behaviors which significantly impact the productivity, efficiency, or cost effectiveness of the END Lab.
  • Assists END Supervisor/Manager/Lead Technologist when necessary.
  • Autonomously perform record clipping and archival.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Performs specialized testing such as carotid endarterectomy monitoring, WADA testing, EEG with Tilt table, and EEG with PET scan to departmental and ASET guidelines.
  • Familiarized with departmental and ASET guidelines for specialized tests as mentioned above without direct supervision on all recording devices.
  • Rotates on-call, alternating shifts, and/or weekend shifts with other technologists.
  • Informs fellow or attending when record is completed prior to leaving hospital property.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Complies with all policies and standards.
  • For specific duties and responsibilities, refer to documentation provided by the department during orientation.
  • Must abide by all requirements to safely and securely maintain Protected Health Information (PHI) for our patients. Annual training, the UH Code of Conduct and UH policies and procedures are in place to address appropriate use of PHI in the workplace.
