Job Summary

Loudoun County's Department of Parks, Recreation, and Community Services is in search of qualified individuals for the role of full-time Fitness Manager. The Fitness Manager will focus on the Direct Fitness and Wellness Section of the department by establishing standards for fitness programs, personal training, small group classes, and special events. This role will also be responsible for managing the standards associated with staff certification and training sessions. The Fitness Manager will carry out audits on classes to confirm compliance, supervise management, and the contracted maintenance of fitness equipment. In addition, the Fitness Manager will explore current trends and gauge public interest in new fitness and wellness services. The individual is tasked with ensuring consistency, training, and quality assurance of fitness programming at multiple venues.
We are currently hiring for the following location(s): * PRCS, 742 Miller Drive, Leesburg, VA
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: * Establishes policies and procedures for fitness programs while ensuring consistency in the fitness program and the provision of fitness services across various locations. * Formulates, implements, and manages criteria for fitness and wellness education, training, and special events. * Oversees the recruitment, training, orientation, and auditing of instructors and personal trainers. * Supervises staff. * Collaborates with contractors and personnel to guarantee the effective operation of fitness facilities. * May carry out additional critical job responsibilities pertinent to the specific role and departmental assignment.

Minimum Qualifications
-
Bachelor's degree and three (3) years of related work experience in fitness recreation programs; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Preferred Qualifications: * USA weightlifting level 1 or 2. Functional Movement Screen and Functional Capacity Screen certifications.

Job Contingencies and Special Requirements

Must undergo pre-employment criminal, credit, and DMV background checks: valid driver's license and a good driving record. Annual reviews of driving records may be conducted to ensure ongoing qualification. CPR/AED certification. Nationally Accredited personal training or group exercise certification (ACSM, NASM, AFAA, ACE, or NSCA) at time of hire.
National Strength and Conditioning Association Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist or Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Coaches Association's Strength and Conditioning Coach Certified credentials within 90 days of hire.
