Responsibilities

Job Summary
The Librarian will provide support for the medical staff, hospital staff, students, patients and community members regarding knowledge-based information support and needs. Provides education & training to library users. Promotes and markets the libraries and related services within the organization.
Essential Functions
  • Provides clinical and administrative research (performs medical literature searches) and assures appropriate print media and electronic resources are available and maintained in order to provide direct research support to the physicians and staff of the organization.
  • Serves as a research and quality partner to individuals and teams conducting research throughout the organization. Supports the scholarly activities of residents, faculty, preceptors, fellows and students within Academic Affairs programs.
  • Supports CME activities by coordinating with the Network CME Coordinator to assist course directors & planners with educational planning and needs assessment as assigned.
  • Trains users and library personnel in the use of new technology and library resources through appropriate in-person, hybrid and online methods.
  • Supports the technology-related components of the department to facilitate access to knowledge-based, cutting edge medical information.
  • Participates in library collection management and oversees functions such as cataloging and journal processing.
  • Assists in the supervision of volunteers and coordinators assigned to the department and collaborates in the scheduling of work assignments.
  • Actively identifies trends and opportunities for improvement in library services.
  • Participates in departmental the planning and policy development.
Education
  • Master's Degree ALA accredited program - Required
Experience
  • 1 year related - Required
  • 3 years related - Preferred
