Key Responsibilities: This candidate is an active physician assistant, working 50% of their time in their designated clinical specialty and 50% of their time in administrative duties. Supervises, coordinates, and administers the practice of advanced healthcare professionals (AHP), including nurse practitioners and physician assistants. Ensures quality of care and serves as a role model, expert clinician, and mentor. Assists with the administration and management of personnel, fiscal, and material resources. Provide and coordinate the care of Digestive Disease patients, provide patient/family education, promote safe continuity of care. Participate in interdisciplinary and clinical rounds, provide education and support, as well as make appropriate referrals. Document services rendered. The Physician Assistant (PA) Supervisor will also act as a resource for clinical skills for staff, residents, and fellows for Digestive Disease patient population. The PA supervisor will develop and coordinate orientation and on-going educational programs for all APPs. The PA will assist in coordinating NP/PA student placements and preceptors. In collaboration with the Medical Director, the supervisor will interview, hire, and evaluate all APP staff. The incumbent will collaborate with nursing, physicians, and organizational leadership to design and implement quality improvement projects, based on outcomes data and areas identified as needing improvement. This candidate will also collaborate with Digestive Disease committees to best utilize the role of the advanced practice providers. The incumbent will have administrative, clinical, and fiscal operations of the Digestive Disease APP service. Custom Scope: Provides direct supervision typically to professionals. Functions as advisor to unit and administration. Analyzes and resolves problems, interprets policies (e.g., fiscal management, HR, contracts and grants, resource management in defined areas) and demonstrates solid subject matter knowledge. Exercises judgment within defined procedures and policies to determine appropriate action. Supervises staff to assure accountability and stewardship of department resources (operational, financial, and human) in compliance with departmental goals and objectives. The incumbent will have administrative, clinical and fiscal operation of the Digestive Disease APP service. Supervisory/clinical area includes: Beverly Hills, North Hollywood, West Hills, Santa Clarita, Simi Valley, Thousand Oaks, Santa Monica, Torrance and Westwood. Salary range: $144,400-$341,800 annuallyQualifications
