In this position, you will undertake various technical engineering responsibilities focused on the design and assessment of both simple and intricate signal systems, including advanced traffic signal systems and Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS). Your expertise will be crucial in developing innovative traffic signal designs that aim to reduce congestion and improve traffic flow in urban areas, utilizing modern engineering principles. You will also create engineering specifications for these sophisticated systems and design integrated signal systems for busy corridors. By applying traffic engineering methodologies, you will design comprehensive closed-loop signal systems that feature preemption, reporting capabilities, and traffic-responsive operations.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

• Full-time employment
• Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
• Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Hollidaysburg. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time.

QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

• Successful completion of the Civil Engineer Trainee training program (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
• Five years of civil engineering experience in the appropriate specialty, and an Engineer-in-Training certificate issued by or acceptable to the Pennsylvania State Registration Board for Professional Engineers, Land Surveyors and Geologists; or
• Four years of civil engineering experience in the appropriate specialty, and an engineer-in-training certificate issued by or acceptable to the Pennsylvania State Registration Board for Professional Engineers, Land Surveyors and Geologists, and an associate's degree in civil engineering technology or a closely related engineering discipline; or
• One year of civil engineering experience in the appropriate specialty, and a bachelor's degree in civil engineering or a closely related engineering discipline.

Special Requirement:

• This position will require possession of a valid driver's license.

• PA residency requirement is currently waived for this title.
• You must be able to perform essential job functions.
