DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As a Forest Maintenance Supervisor, you will be responsible for the preparation, installation, maintenance, and removal of fences within the Susquehannock Forest District. Key duties will entail preparing, organizing, and scheduling the daily workload of a fence crew consisting of five employees. You will collaborate with the Forest Assistant Manager and Foresters surrounding material purchasing, planning, and execution of fencing projects in addition to determining manpower, equipment, and supplies needed for projects. You will also oversee fence boundary maintenance to include fence repairs, chainsaw work, herbicide application, and brush removal. Providing assistance with forest fire prevention, pre-suppression, suppression, and search and rescue are also vital components of this position. Safety is to be promoted in all work activities and any unsafe acts or conditions are to be promptly corrected. Interested in learning more? - Full-time employment
- Work hours are 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday - Wednesday, and 7:00 AM to 4:30 PM on Thursday, with a 30-minute lunch.
- Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
- Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Four years of semi-skilled maintenance or construction experience which includes one year in the operation of small and medium size construction or agricultural equipment; or
- An equivalent combination of experience and training.
Special Requirements:
- This position requires possession of an active motor vehicle license.
- This position requires possession of a valid Class A Commercial Driver's License.
