Avionics Technician
Position Overview

At Aurora Flight Sciences, we design, build, and fly advanced aircraft and enabling technologies from concept to reality. We are searching for a talented and self-motivated Avionics Technician to help us create the future of flight. Responsibilities will include but not be limited to the following:

Responsibilities

-As part of Aurora's Unmanned Arial Vehicle Prototype/Development Manufacturing Team, you will be part of the team performing fabrication and installation of harnesses assemblies into various types of aircraft.
-Our technicians work from engineering drawings, schematics and production drawings with limited supervision and work closely with Engineering to resolve design issues.
-It will be your responsibility to build, review, peer check, guide, share knowledge with the build and design teams, help resolve problems and ensure work is performed correctly and in a timely manner.

Minimum Requirements

-Education/experience typically acquired through basic education (e.g. High School diploma/GED) and typically 7 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent
combination of education and experience (e.g. vocational school/Associate+5 years' related work, Bachelor+2 years' related work, etc.).
-Aircraft electronic/avionics fabrication, installation, maintenance, repair and troubleshooting of flight hardware
-Working to IPC 610/620 standards, Soldering in accordance to the "J" standard is required.
-Must be a US Person.

Preferred Requirements

-A current FAA A&P or FCC license is preferred.
-Flight line and bench skills must include excellent harness/wiring skills.
-Rack and Stack and LRU Build experience.
-Use of standard harness fabrication crimp tools
-Recent experience working from engineering drawings, schematics and production drawings
-Use of computer, software, and specialized equipment skills is essential
-Demonstrated ability to apply basic math, locate information and comprehend technical material
-Experience performing medium density surface mount soldering/repairs is highly desired

Physical Requirements

-Ability to work in a hangar/manufacturing environment and wear proper PPE.
-Follow Boeing regulations for lifting; consistently stand, stoop, crawl, bend, crouch, climb, and kneel.
-May be required to support extended hours.
-Work onsite daily in Manassas, VA.
