Payroll Specialist

This position is part of a dynamic corporate accounting and finance team and involves significant interaction with our corporate finance and project teams as well as external stakeholders. This position is responsible for supporting all areas of the payroll process, as assigned, to ensure payrolls are processed timely/accurately.

Job Responsibilities:

• Review data prepared by timekeepers for reasonableness and accuracy.
• Update employee information in the computer database.
• Complete all steps, including voluntary employee deductions and garnishment calculations, necessary to process and produce payroll deposits for all employees.
• Assist in the preparation of annual W-2 forms for all employees.
• Respond to employee inquiries and interface regularly with various departments in the company.
• Provide internal and external customer service.
• Resolve any data discrepancies.
• Initiate continuous improvement of accounting processes.
• Maintain established document control protocol.
• Communicate with peers and supervisors to ensure understanding of results.
• Perform other payroll-related support as assigned.

Qualifications/ Requirements:

• Minimum of an Associate's Degree in Accounting or Business; or five years of accounting-related experience in a fast-paced working environment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Self-starter, proactive, motivated, and team player.
• Strong analysis and problem-solving skills "Can-do" attitude.
• Ability to shift easily between priorities and projects along with managing multiple deadlines.
