Join Michelin as a Chemist (Entry/Experienced) in Anderson and become part of our outstanding team! You will play a meaningful role in ensuring our production processes meet the highest standards of quality and efficiency. By applying your expertise in analytical chemistry, you will help us achieve our ambitious goals of flawless manufacturing, cost-effectiveness, and world-class production.

Key encouraged achievements
  • Interpret and effectively communicate test analysis results of raw materials and semi-finished goods using a variety of instrumentation and analytical chemistry techniques.
  • Efficiently collaborate and actively connect with a cross-functional team to support customer needs.
  • Ensure accurate documentation is respected in compliance with company policies.
  • Enter analysis results into various laboratory data management systems.
  • Relay notification of nonconformities to the appropriate individuals.
  • Maintain qualifications and calibrations with respect to specified methods.
  • Keep control charts for verification standards to align with ISO 9001:2015.
  • Ensure instrument preventative maintenance and cleaning procedures are followed and detailed.
  • Ensure industrial hygiene and safety guidelines are followed and maintained in the lab area.
  • Perform troubleshooting techniques on equipment.
  • Periodically perform inter-lab studies to cross-check alignment and reproducibility of measures.
  • Support the various manufacturing sites in quality investigations by providing results in a timely manner.
  • Assist in training of new technicians.
  • Support qualifications of new lab equipment or methods.
Prerequisites
  • Degree or equivalent experience in Chemistry or related field.
  • Confirmed initiative and independent work ethic, with examples of being proactive.
  • Capability of working across various lab settings, including instrumentation and wet chemistry methods.
  • Solid understanding of HPLC, AA, ICP, Karl Fischer, Auto Titrators, DSC preferred.
  • Solid understanding of Empower, Tiamo/OMNIS software preferred.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office 365 (specifically Teams, Excel, etc.) suite.
  • Willingness to work in a manufacturing environment.
  • Shown flexibility to support manufacturing operations.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment and take direction from peers.
