Under the direction of the Senior Manager, Benefits Programs, this position is responsible for the administration of the benefits plans, excluding retirement, at Hancock Whitney. Administers associate health insurance and welfare plans working closely with consultants, insurance brokers, and plan carriers.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Conducts on-going analysis of company benefits program performance through the review of benefit reports, company utilization trends, and industry standards.
  • Monitors benefit plan utilization trends and is responsible for tracking the performance of Hancock Whiney self-funding plan accounts on a monthly basis.
  • Research benefit trends and makes recommendations to the Benefits Committee to improve associate recruitment and retention.
  • Monitor the effectiveness of company benefit programming & research benefit trends. Makes recommendations to the appropriate management and Benefits Committee to improve associate recruitment and retention.
  • Coordinate meetings with all Hancock Whitney benefit vendors at least annually to discuss plan performance and consider possible enhancements to plan offerings.
  • Facilitates the annual benefit open enrollment process working closely with the HR team. Conducts benefit meetings with HR teams in preparation of open enrollment. Ensures necessary materials and communications are prepared for successful open enrollment processing.
  • Ensure information within Workday stays up to date with required benefits language, current SPD-s, quick links, and other helpful tips/suggestions as an associate informational resource tool.
  • Reviews company benefit plans for compliance in accordance with requirements. Prepares updates to the Compensation Committee and Board of Directors as appropriate.
  • Compiles and files required benefits regulatory reports including but not limited to form 5500, IRS form 1094-C, 1095, etc.
  • Advises associates on state and federal regulations, and benefit policies.
  • Maintains proper correspondence and legal files.
  • Remain current on policy or procedural changes and new product offerings.
  • Attends periodic training to remain current with trends and developments in benefit administration and participates in an

exchange of ideas and problems.

  • Assists with various projects and assignments as needed.
  • Keeps apprised of federal, state, and company policies, procedures, internal controls, and regulations.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies, procedures and applicable laws; Provides guidance and oversight to and is responsible for the coordination and evaluation of the assigned team. Responsibilities may include interviewing, hiring and training associates; planning, assigning and directing work; performance management; associate compensation; approving expense reports; addressing concerns and resolving problems.

MINIMUM REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & KNOWLEDGE:
  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Four to seven years of related experience is required
  • CEBS (Certified Employee Benefits Specialist) designation is preferred
  • Advanced Excel skills are required
