Job Summary

The Supervisor, Game Presentation and Events, is responsible for the day-to-day execution and coordination of the LA Kings game and event department initiatives. This role oversees part-time talent and event staff during all LA Kings home games and events, with direct responsibility for managing the Ice Crew team, including tryouts, training, scheduling, appearance bookings, and photo shoots. The Supervisor plays a key role in enhancing the overall fan experience, building strong relationships with internal departments and external partners, and fostering a collaborative, team-first culture. Additionally, this position supports in-game talent and vendor bookings, serves as the on-site liaison, and contributes to a variety of game and event initiatives with a focus on talent relations. Success in this role requires a proactive mindset, strong multitasking abilities, excellent communication skills, and the capacity to make informed decisions in high-pressure, fast-paced environments.

Essential Functions:



  • Oversee all operational aspects of the LA Kings Ice Crew Promotional Team for home games and events, managing a team of up to 25 part-time staff who serve as brand ambassadors. Responsibilities include planning and executing auditions and onboarding, organizing seasonal training workshops and professional development sessions, scheduling and assigning staff for appearances and game-day activations, managing timesheets and hours worked, ordering and distributing uniforms and accessories, maintaining promotional props and in-game activations, coordinating seat visit assignments, and supporting part-time social media staff in content creation and digital engagement.
  • Work with the Director of Game Presentation to manage all aspects of game-day talent, including Hosts, Organist, DJ, PA announcer, and third-party entertainment. Responsibilities include hiring, training, scheduling, performance evaluations, wardrobe coordination, prop/material management, and coordinating with additional Game & Event Administrative Management staff on personnel matters.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for all talent, troubleshooting game-day issues and ensuring smooth execution of special performances, rotating entertainment, and VIP hosting. Distribute detailed call sheets in advance to communicate timing, locations, and responsibilities.
  • Coordinate cross-departmentally and with part-time staff to ensure all game-day logistics are executed effectively, including run-of-show assignments, parking, credentials, and catering. Key departments include Global Partnerships, Community, Marketing, Ticketing, Public Relations, and Hockey Operations.
  • Support the of Director of Game Presentation in talent relations, research, and outreach for games and events such as Fan Fests. Manage performance agreements and maintain a comprehensive log of talent and vendor contacts.
  • Supervise part time staff members to upkeep, organize, and track department inventory, props, materials, vehicles, and storage areas.
  • Support department director with securing game/event activation needs, including: prizing, props, specialized waivers or claim forms, etc.


Specific Knowledge Skills and Ability:

The Supervisor, Game Presentation and Events must possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities and be able to explain and demonstrate that he or she can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation, using some other combination of skill and abilities:



  • Exceptional problem-solving skills and ability to prioritize workload efficiently and quickly.

  • Passion for live event planning and production with a goal of maximizing guest experience.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, with emphasis on: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Working knowledge of current social media platforms and content trends preferred.
  • Basic/working knowledge of Photoshop and/or video editing software preferred.
  • Flexible hours required: working evenings/nights, weekends and holidays as needed


Qualification Standards:

Education:



  • High School Diploma or its equivalency (BA/BS Degree Preferred) in Marketing, Media, Film/Television, Communications, PR or related field


Experience:



  • 4-6 years related work experience
  • Stage management, promotional team or marketing experience - particularly for live sporting events.
  • Supervisory or managerial experience, including direct supervision of part-time and/or full-time staff, including hiring, training, assigning projects/duties, appraising performance, rewarding and/or disciplining employees, addressing issues and complaints, and solving problems.
  • Experience coordinating and/or designing/setting up large and small-scale event spaces and activation footprints preferred.
  • Experience in booking talent and talent relations.


Payscale: $69,000 - $75,000

Bonus: This position is eligible for a bonus under the current bonus plan requirements.
