JOB DESCRIPTION

The Director, Post Production is responsible for overseeing a growing slate of unscripted original productions from a post-production and delivery point of view. This includes managing all aspects of post-production from development through final delivery, including scheduling, budgeting, vendor relationships, and studio workflows. The Director, Post Production will also support the broader studio post-production team across other live action projects as needed.

The Director, Post Production requires a strong operational and technical background, the ability to manage multiple unscripted projects simultaneously, and the flexibility to adapt post strategies based on creative templates and production resources. The ideal candidate will maintain and enforce best practices, onboard external partners efficiently, and ensure timely and accurate delivery to all distribution platforms. A strong network of freelance post talent and vendors is essential.

A SNAPSHOT OF YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Oversee post-production schedules, budget tracking, and timelines from development through final delivery for unscripted productions
  • Manage multiple unscripted projects while providing support to other live action productions as needed
  • Partner with Physical Production and Production Finance to evaluate post budgets and align them with creative scope and production scale
  • Maintain and enforce post workflows, delivery specs, and technical requirements across all unscripted projects
  • Serve as the primary liaison between external post teams, vendors, and internal studio departments
  • Track progress and milestones using shared tools and systems; escalate issues early and implement solutions
  • Attend sessions such as final mix, color correction, and VFX reviews, as needed
  • Manage relationships with post vendors and freelance talent; develop strategic alliances that support both creative needs and cost efficiency
  • Coordinate final delivery to clients and studio archive
  • Support onboarding and workflow integration for new post-production partners
  • Other duties and projects as assigned by department head

WHAT YOU WILL NEED

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent years of experience
  • 7+ years of experience in unscripted post-production across both film and television
  • Strong technical knowledge of scripted workflows including editorial, finishing, VFX, and delivery
  • Working knowledge of Movie Magic Budgeting & Scheduling
  • Familiarity with industry-standard editorial and post tools such as Avid, Adobe Premiere, DaVinci Resolve, and Shotgrid or similar tracking systems
  • Proven experience managing multiple projects in various stages within a fast-paced studio or network environment
  • Exceptional organizational and communication skills; ability to collaborate with both creative and operational stakeholders
  • Ability to assess and adapt workflows to support new technology, studio initiatives, or creative vision

Pursuant to state and local pay disclosure requirements, the pay rate/range for this role, with final offer amount dependent on education, skills, experience, and location is $102,000.00-115,000.00 annually. This role is also eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, various benefits, including medical/dental/vision, insurance, a 401(k) plan, paid time off, and other benefits in accordance with applicable plan documents. Benefits for Union represented employees will be in accordance with the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
