City/State Suffolk, VAWork Shift First (Days)Overview: Sentara Obici Hospital is hiring a Cardiovascular Invasive Technologist or Specialist for a full time, day shift position in Suffolk, VA. Schedule: Four 10-hour shifts, Monday to Friday 7am to 530pm, rotating. No Weekends or Holidays. Call Requirements: 1 week of call every 3-4 weeks 7a to 7p Monday to the following Monday. One Major and One Minor holiday call shift required per year. About the Department: Our department is a cohesive team of 15 skilled professionals, including RNs, RCIS, RTs, and CVIT staff, specializing in cath, angio, and IR vascular procedures. With a steady case volume of 10-12 per day, our experienced team works closely together in a supportive environment. Led by a manager recognized with the ACE award, we focus on delivering high-quality care and fostering opportunities for professional development to ensure excellence in cardiovascular services. The Cardiovascular Invasive Technologist performs/reviews a baseline patient assessment, evaluates patient response to diagnostic or interventional maneuvers during cardiac catheterization laboratory procedures. Provides patient care commonly used in the cardiac catheterization laboratory as requested and under the direction of a qualified physician. The Cardiovascular Invasive Technologist acts as a first assistant during diagnostic and therapeutic catheterization. The Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist administers medication under the direction of a qualified physician; ensures compliance with all hospital policies, HIPAA regulations, and accreditation standards; participates in on-call rotation and responds rapidly to emergency cases, including STEMI activations; and contributes to ongoing quality assurance and process improvement initiatives in the cath lab.
