OVERVIEW
Merrick is hiring a Business Development Manager focused on the power distribution industry in Texas. This role will have the opportunity to steer our power market capture plan in the Texas power market. The preferred candidate will be familiar with the Texas Electric Cooperatives (TEC) and key companies in the Texas distribution market. Individual must be a self-starter who is not afraid of autonomy or creative thinking. Annual salary range for this position is $125,000.00 - $162,000.00. Base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Minimum of 8 years of sales experience in construction, solar, power, utilities, or energy markets
- Proven ability to build and maintain strategic relationships with key clients, particularly within the power and electric utility sectors
- Demonstrated success in developing and managing sales initiatives in the Texas market
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Skilled in deal origination, sales processes, solution development, and contract negotiations
- Ability to stay current with emerging technology trends and translate them into customer-focused solutions
- Must possess a valid driver's license and be insurable under Merrick's insurance policy
- Must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship
- Willing and able to travel approximately 25-50% of the time, depending on business needs

- Bachelor's degree (B. S.)
- Knowledge of the Texas power market
- Firsthand experience with Texas Electric Cooperatives
