Position Summary

We are seeking a strategic and execution-focused People Advisory Project Manager to lead and deliver complex, cross-functional HR initiatives that support organizational effectiveness, change management, and continuous improvement. This role sits within the Legal Services People Advisory function (HR Business Partners) and partners closely with the Centers of Excellence (COEs), Engagement and Development, and Firm leaders to manage programs and processes that span multiple workstreams and geographies.

The ideal candidate brings a strong foundation in HR operations, project, and change management, and stakeholder engagement. This is a high-visibility role that requires strong leadership, communication, and the ability to drive results in a matrixed, fast-paced environment.

Duties and Accountabilities1

Continuous People Advisory Process Improvement & Strategic Support

  • Understand, organize and improve our delivery of the core annual people processes - Performance Evaluations, Annual Compensation, and Career Conversations.

  • Identify inefficiencies in people processes and implement scalable, repeatable solutions.

  • Analyze data and feedback to inform project priorities and measure impact.

  • Contribute to the development of people advisory strategies and transformation roadmaps.

  • Support the creation of toolkits, templates, and infrastructure to enable repeatable, high-quality delivery across the people advisory client service suite.

  • Demonstrate and practice a high level of knowledge around talent management and a solid understanding of technical HR, including federal and local labor and employment laws.

  • Achieve results by utilizing the People team centers of expertise (recruiting, mobility, talent, etc.), HR shared services, Global HRIS, and wider support functions

  • Collaborate closely with Global HRIS to prepare and conduct data analytics for the People Advisory function to deliver insights and data-driven solutions to business stakeholders

  • Build trust and work effectively with all stakeholders; improve the employee experience across the Americas and effectiveness across HR functions

  • Contribute to building and fostering a collaborative, collegial, high performing team committed to professional excellence

Program & Project Leadership

  • Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of HR programs including:

    • Annual performance management cycle (self-evaluations, downward & upward feedback, year-end reviews, performance ratings)

    • Annual compensation review (base salary, bonus, and level progression planning)

    • Annual senior lawyer career designations and promotion planning

    • End-to-end the delivery of a full suite of International Lawyer programs, including Latin American Fellows, Arbitration Fellows, London Trainees, German Referendars, and recurring client secondment rotational seats, among others.

  • Develop and manage integrated project plans, timelines, stakeholder maps, and communication strategies.

  • Track progress against milestones, identify and mitigate risks, and ensure quality outcomes within time and budget constraints.

  • Facilitate project meetings, working sessions, and stakeholder updates; document decisions, risks, and action items. Partner with People Advisory Leadership in the delivery of Americas approach to Firm-wide programs and procedures serving the employee experience, including annual milestones, flexible work, on/off ramping, engagement programs, and career management

Qualifications

  • At least five (5) years of HR project management experience in a matrixed professional services environment, working across a region, with at least three (3) years in an HR Generalist, Business Partner, or People Experience capacity supporting a dedicated client group
  • At least five (5) years' experience working across a global or remote cross-border teams
  • Bachelor's degree required, advanced degree or professional certification preferred

  • Experience with Workday strongly preferred; minimum of three (3) years' experience with data management and analysis across various HRIS and ATS, ideally PeopleSoft, Taleo, viDesktop

  • Experience with shared service capability

  • Legal services experience strongly preferred

  • Excellent written and oral communication

  • Strong project management skills

  • Excellent client relationship management skills, ability to liaise effectively with senior stakeholders routinely

  • Requires excellent organizational skills, attention to detail and adaptability

  • Ability to set priorities and work under pressure to achieve a way forward

Location & Reporting

  • This role is based in our New York office.

  • This role reports to the Senior Manager, People Advisory.
