We're looking for a high-performing SLED Account Executive to own and grow our State, Local Government, and Education business across Eastern Upstate New York and the Capital Region. This includes building relationships with state agencies, county and municipal governments, K-12 school districts, and higher education institutions.

As part of a focused and fast-growing Public Sector team, you'll work cross-functionally with engineering, channel, and marketing resources to drive strategic engagements, influence large-scale IT initiatives, and win new business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own and grow territory pipeline and revenue across:


    • NY State agencies (especially Albany-based departments)
    • County & municipal governments (Hudson Valley, North Country, Mohawk Valley)
    • K-12 school districts and BOCES
    • SUNY and community colleges


  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key IT and procurement decision-makers
  • Develop and execute strategic account and territory plans
  • Work with internal stakeholders (SEs, Channel, Marketing) to align on account strategy and execution
  • Engage partners and resellers to extend reach and drive co-selling
  • Manage full sales cycle: lead generation, qualification, demo/presentations, proposal, negotiation, close
  • Navigate government procurement processes (RFPs, contracts, coops, state vehicles)
  • Forecast and report on pipeline, performance, and key wins to leadership
  • Attend and represent the company at regional SLED events and industry conferences

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of direct sales experience in enterprise technology, preferably in cybersecurity, SaaS, networking, or infrastructure
  • Proven success selling into State, Local Government, and/or Education accounts
  • Strong understanding of NYS procurement, budgeting cycles, and funding mechanisms
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex sales cycles and strategic accounts
  • Familiarity with the unique dynamics of the Albany/state agency ecosystem
  • Self-starter with excellent communication, organization, and relationship-building skills
  • Ability to travel regionally as needed (estimated 25-35%)
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience


Preferred Qualifications:



  • Existing relationships within NY state agencies or educational institutions
  • Experience working with or through public sector channels and distributors
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks and compliance requirements in SLED
  • Experience using Salesforce or similar CRM

The wage range for this position takes into consideration a variety of factors in determining your pay. We'll consider your location, experience, certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The wage disclosure has not been adjusted for applicable geographic differentials associated with the location at which this position may be filled. A reasonable estimate of the current base wage range for this role is $140,000-$175,000. In addition to the base compensation, certain roles are eligible for additional compensation, including an annual bonus or sales incentive based on revenue or utilization, depending on the terms of the plan and the employee's role. These awards are allocated based on individual performance.
