Pay Range: Actual pay may vary up or down depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for incentive compensation.

Job Summary

Cloud FinOps is responsible for tracking, optimizing, and managing the cloud spend & savings at Sorenson Communications. Understanding the cloud usage and identifying inefficiencies, then planning and executing the changes to address them. This person will reside in the Cloud Operations team and provide reporting and analytics to senior leadership.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Monitor cloud spend and present opportunities for cost savings
• Plan and execute changes to address opportunities
• Build and create dashboards to provide insights on costs by services, applications, owners, verticals, or components and identify opportunities for cost optimization.
• Responsible for generating monthly reports and maintaining KPI for cloud cost.
• Analysis of reservations coverage and assist with procurement.
• Meet with the Application Owner, Cloud Engineering, and Cloud Architects monthly to review, track, and forecast cloud costs.
• Work with Finance and Technology on cost initiatives, build cost models, and assist with budget alignment.
• Work with various stakeholders to track cloud costs from project inception to go-live, ongoing operations, and retirement.
• Support FinOps tooling, process, and methodologies that enable effective cloud cost management
• Leadership skills with experience managing teams and projects.
• Providing coaching or mentoring to other team members.
• Other duties as assigned

Supervisory Responsibility

This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities but does serve as a coach and mentor for other positions in the department.

Travel Requirements

Travel Requirements: Less than 25%

Education

Minimum 4 Year / Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, or related field

Experience

4 Years of Experience Cloud Cost Management, cloud cost management tools such as Azure, AWS, CloudHealth.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Understanding of cloud-based services usage, structure, discount, and pricing
• Ability to create visualization dashboards using PowerBI
• Ability to analyze and interpret data and provide insights
• PowerShell experience or certification
• FinOps Cloud certification desired
• Strong written, oral, and presentation communication skills
