This opportunity is in the Claims department.

Our Claims Department oversees both high-exposure workers' compensation and liability claims. As an unbundled carrier, we work actively with third-party administrators (TPAs) and self-administered accounts to assist in guiding claims to a successful resolution. As an excess carrier, the catastrophic claims we handle keep our group challenged, but the uniqueness provides plenty of growth opportunities.

Role Description:

Are you a seasoned expert in claims quality and operational excellence? As the Director of TPA Governance, you'll lead the development and execution of a comprehensive Claims Quality Assurance Program designed to elevate claims performance and ensure consistent, high-quality handling practices. In this strategic role, you'll establish quality standards, implement a quality management system, and oversee performance evaluations for both TPAs and self-administered claims programs. You'll also build and guide a team of Claims Quality Auditors, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, regulatory compliance, and data-driven decision making. Collaborating across departments-including Compliance, Risk Control, BI, and Finance-you'll play a pivotal role in enhancing claim outcomes and aligning with business objectives. This position is located in our St. Louis, MO, office and includes travel for audits, client meetings, and industry events.

Qualifications:

A bachelor's degree in Business, Insurance, Risk Management, or a related field is required.

Required Qualifications:

  • Must be presently authorized to work in the U.S. without a requirement for work authorization sponsorship by our company for this position now or in the future
  • This position allows for a hybrid work schedule which includes a minimum of 3 days per week in our St. Louis Corporate Office, located at 1832 Schuetz Rd. Saint Louis, MO. All employees are required to submit work from home requests and follow our Work From Home policy, which will be provided to all candidates selected to interview.
  • 10 or more years of experience in Claims Quality, Claims Operations, or a related role, with expertise in both Workers' Compensation and Liability claims
  • Experience leading teams focused on performance improvement and operational consistency
  • Proven track record of success in quality audit program development, process improvement, and performance analytics
  • Strong leadership and analytical skills with the ability to translate data into actionable insights
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with oversight of Third Party Administrators (TPAs) and/or Self-Administered claim programs
