Join our team as a Bookkeeper, where you will play a crucial role in maintaining financial records for our company and family members. Your expertise will ensure the accuracy and integrity of our financial transactions, supporting our overall financial health.

As a Bookkeeper, you will maintain general ledgers, prepare balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and journal entries with the assistance of Senior Bookkeepers and Accountants. You will track and balance financial activities, including stocks, money market accounts, and mutual funds, providing analysis of gains and losses. Acting as a liaison with our outside payroll provider, you will review payroll runs and quarterly and year-end tax reports. You will also prepare payroll for internal entities for review by Accountants or Senior Bookkeepers.

Your responsibilities include managing accounts payable and accounts receivable, reconciling numerous bank and broker accounts, and maintaining accurate inventory records. You will monitor cash balances and work with assigned accountants to transfer funds as needed. Assisting Tax Accountants, you will gather and reconcile information for tax return preparation and prepare information for 1099s.

You will work with Accountants to accurately book purchases and sales of investments, prepare data requested by internal and external auditors, and assist with loan applications for autos, boats, and homes. Coordinating with Accountants and Senior Bookkeepers, you will facilitate banking and accounting needs with outside bankers, brokers, and attorneys.

You will prepare cash flow projections and workpapers for review and track new investments with assistance from Accountants and Senior Bookkeepers. Maintaining satisfactory attendance and timeliness is essential. You will ensure compliance with applicable quality, environmental, and safety regulations.

What You'll Need

  • High School diploma or State-issued equivalency certificate plus 4 years of bookkeeping experience to include 3 plus years of experience in double entry accounting and full lifecycle payroll processing reflecting increasing levels of responsibility.
  • Computer skill requirements include: intermediate MS Word and MS Excel and intermediate with bookkeeping software such as Quickbooks or Famous.
  • Possess some understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Skilled in adding, subtracting, multiplying and dividing in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions and percentages.
  • Candidates are required to complete a credit check for this position; the results do not automatically disqualify a candidate from employment, but will be individually evaluated to determine if the results disqualify the candidate for employment in such a position

How You'll Stand Out

  • Associates Degree in Accounting or Bookkeeping.
  • 5 plus years of double entry accounting experience reflecting increasing levels of responsibility.
  • Some skills in reading and interpreting documents such as operating instructions and procedure manuals. Some skills in writing routine reports and correspondence. Some skills in speaking effectively and presenting to groups of customers or employees of the organization.
  • Some skills to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Some skills in defining problems, collecting data, establishing facts, and drawing valid conclusions. Some skills in dealing with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Organizes and prioritizes work to meet deadlines.
