The Business Development Manager is responsible for developing and expanding business with electrical contractors, distributors, manufacturing, and industrial customers. This is a remote role that entails 50% business travel. This role involves strategic planning, market research, and collaboration with internal teams to ensure alignment between customer needs and company offerings. This team member will focus on supporting customers and growing business across the US.



  • Identify and develop new business opportunities in commercial & industrial markets.
  • Conduct market research to identify customer purchase and service needs for transformers, switchgear, regulators, reclosers, and related power distribution equipment.
  • Planning and overseeing new marketing initiatives.
  • Researching organizations and individuals to find new opportunities.
  • Attending conferences, meetings, and industry events.
  • Working with the marketing team to help develop specific marketing strategies that drive business
  • Scheduling and planning of customer site visits.
  • Drive new business by seeking out opportunities with new and existing customers, close on customer orders.
  • Gather and provide competitor feedback
  • Establishes and maintains customer relationships to generate profitable sales.
  • Monitors support teams to ensure orders are executed as agreed
  • Tracks and reports proactive activity monthly
  • 3-5 years sales experience in electrical utility industry, preferred.
  • 2+ years of outside sales or business development experience
  • Preferred knowledge of low, medium, and high voltage transformers, switchgear, and related power distribution equipment
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Cooperative attitude towards all internal and external customers.
  • A dependable and strong work ethic.
  • Ability to learn other areas sufficient to fill in where required.
