Job Details:

If you have a Buyer that has inventory or logistics exp it will be a slam dunk.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES:

1. Using Xcel template prepares quotes (processes, costs, outside services, etc.) for the extrusion, stamping and radiator businesses. Submits to Owners for discussion and approval/rejection.

2. Establishes purchasing practices and procedures for the company to be followed by anyone involved in buying for the company, including Purchase Order numbering system and purchase requisitions.

3. Interviews vendors' representatives. Selects vendors, assesses vendor capabilities, develops alternate sources, and evaluates vendor performance.

4. Negotiates prices, discounts, payment terms (with input from Owners) and delivery.

5. Recommends major purchases of supplies and materials based on anticipated changes in prices or on unusual availability situations.

6. Makes certain that purchasing documents are properly completed and terms and conditions of purchases are appropriate.

7. Assures purchasing records are maintained and that purchases are followed up or expedited when required.

8. Undertakes specifically assigned projects relating to procurements and provides summaries, reports, and recommendations on these subjects.

9. Assists other employees in procuring requested materials and supplies and establishes levels of purchasing delegated authority.

10. Ensures returned goods are expedited and proper credits to company with assistance of Accounting and QA.

11. Ensure customer requests, complaints and needs are addressed on a timely manner including troubleshooting as needed.

12. Maintaining and tracking raw material, WIP, and finished production inventory- for all extrusions, radiators and stamping production.

13. Maintain and communicating with S&R Clerk about shipments and status.

14. Performs other miscellaneous duties as assigned.

EDUCATION, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

1. Minimum of three (3) years' experience as a buyer, purchasing agent or equivalent in a manufacturing environment.

2. Knowledge of standard purchasing procedures and practices.

3. Level of education usually acquired through the completion of two years post high courses in business or related field.

4. Skill in communicating in verbal and written form.

5. Knowledge of inventory procedures and controls.

6. Ability to work well with other staff and production employees.
