Position Summary
As a Program Manager, Expert, you will lead strategic Lean transformation initiatives across PG&E's IT organization, focusing on advancing Lean maturity and driving enterprise-wide waste elimination. This role requires deep expertise in Lean Portfolio Management, Lean Agile methodologies, stakeholder engagement, and continuous improvement to deliver measurable outcomes aligned with organizational goals.
PG&E is providing the salary range that can reasonably be expected for this position at the time of the job posting. This salary range is specific to the locality of the job. The actual salary paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, internal equity, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, and geographic location. The decision will be made on a case-by-case basis related to these factors. This job is also eligible to participate in PG&E's discretionary incentive compensation programs.
Pay range: $122,000.00 - $173,800.00
This position is hybrid, working from your remote office and our Oakland Headquarters based on business need. The assigned work location will be within the PG&E Service Territory.
Job Responsibilities
- Lean Maturity Advancement
- Develop and execute strategies to elevate Lean maturity across IT functions.
- Conduct assessments to identify gaps, strengths, and opportunities for improvement.
- Facilitate workshops and coaching sessions to embed Lean principles and practices.
- Waste Elimination Leadership
- Lead cross-functional initiatives to identify and eliminate operational waste.
- Collaborate with functional leaders to brainstorm solutions and implement Lean-based improvements.
- Track and report progress using CIIMS and other tools, ensuring alignment with strategic targets.
- Agile Framework Implementation & Scaling
- Apply and scale Agile frameworks such as SAFe, LeSS, or Disciplined Agile across teams.
- Ensure consistent Agile practices and foster cross-team collaboration to break down silos.
- Portfolio & Transformation Support
- Drive Lean Portfolio Management processes including TIP development, backlog prioritization, and strategic planning.
- Support OCIO planning, change management, and transformation initiatives.
- Performance Measurement & Reporting
- Define and monitor KPIs to measure Lean and Agile transformation success.
- Provide regular updates to senior IT leadership, highlighting progress, risks, and opportunities.
- Knowledge Management & Enablement
- Maintain LACE SharePoint site, training materials, and documentation of best practices.
- Capture lessons learned and success stories to support ongoing improvement efforts.
- Training & Engagement Coordination
- Manage training schedules, workshop logistics, and coach engagement.
- Ensure effective communication and participation across all levels of the organization.
Qualifications
Minimum:
- Bachelors Degree or equivalent experience
- Job-related experience, 8 years
Desired:
- Masters Degree in job-related discipline or equivalent experience
- PMI-Project Management Institute PMP-Project Management Professional certification
- Scrum Master Certified
- SAFe Agilist Certified
- Extensive experience in Lean Portfolio Management, SAFe, and Lean Agile methodologies
- Proven track record in leading enterprise-wide waste elimination and transformation initiatives
- Strong stakeholder management, facilitation, and coaching capabilities
- Excellent analytical, communication, and reporting skills
- Ability to influence and drive change across diverse functional areas
