CNC Operator I - 1st Shift

Job Title: CNC Operator - Level 1 (CNC Mill/Set-Up Operator)
1st shift hours: 6am - 3pm (M-F)

Location: Geneva, OH 44041
Job Type: Direct Hire/Permanent Position
Pay: $19/hour - $21/hour
Non-Exempt

Summary:
The primary function of this position is to set up and run CNC milling machine jobs.

Years Experience:
1-3 years industry experience preferred

Primary and Essential Duties and Responsibilities
*Able to program, edit, fixture and set up CNC Milling Machine Jobs
*Accurately reports shop floor production data via computer terminal and/or written reporting
*Follows both visual and written work instructions in order to complete assigned tasks within set time allotted
*Performs cycle counting of parts and material handling duties as required
*Supports, communicates, reinforces and defends the mission, values and culture of the organization
*Adheres to all quality and safety standards
*Supports other projects and performs duties as assigned

Experience / Knowledge / Skills / Abilities:
*Must be able to speak, read and understand English
*Ability to work from verbal and written instructions
*Operation of small power tools, other hand tools and computerized and high-pressure equipment
*Goal oriented and team focused to ensure completion of projects in a timely manner

Work Environment:
The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job:
*Work is accomplished in a moderately clean plant environment
*The production floor does not have a cooling system
*The sound level in the work environment may fluctuate due to noises associated with manufacturing process
*Regularly exposed to dust, odors, oil and/or fumes

Physical Demands:
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
*Performs all work in accordance with safety and workmanship and good housekeeping specifications
*Frequent lifting of up to 50 lbs., occasional lifting up to 75 lbs.
*Ability to climb ladders, bend, kneel, work overhead with arms, and sit or stand for several hours at a time
*Eye/hand coordination required, with steady and agile hands to operate equipment and tools
*Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus
*Ability to wear proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), as required per plant rules

Training
*New employee safety orientation and training on special tools or software required for job performance

Secondary Duties and Responsibilities
*May participate in lean /six sigma/quality/safety initiatives as required

Supervisory Responsibilities
*Does not supervise others

Level of Education:
High School diploma or GED preferred. In lieu of diploma, relevant work experience demonstrating the required job skills and abilities needed to successfully perform the job
