Salary: $85,000/yr.

Key Responsibilities:



  • Oversee and support the Senior Buyer, including managing purchase orders, pricing negotiations, and supplier coordination
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Sales, Accounting, and Program Managers to support production schedules and resolve supplier issues
  • Identify and onboard new suppliers, manage vendor setup in QAD, and handle NDAs
  • Track and improve supplier performance, cost-saving opportunities, and purchasing processes
  • Maintain and report Small Business compliance data, including biannual government reports and year-end summaries
  • Handle ECO-related actions, GIDEP alerts, and quality issues including non-conformances and RMAs
  • Provide management reports on purchasing activity and cost savings; fill in for Senior Buyer as needed


Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's degree in Business Management or related field, with 10-15 years of purchasing experience in a production environment
  • Strong communication, leadership, teamwork, and negotiation skills in fast-paced, deadline-driven settings
  • In-depth knowledge of government contractor purchasing, FAR/DFAR, and AS9100 Quality Management Systems
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and experienced with MRP/ERP systems (QAD knowledge a plus)
  • Demonstrates initiative, independent judgment, and consistent attendance
  • Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing principles; Lean/Six Sigma Greenbelt or higher preferred; open to domestic/international travel
