Job Summary

American National Bank is looking for an Investment Portfolio Analyst who will assist in the management of American National Bank's securities investment portfolio consisting primarily of fixed income products. The Analyst will be responsible for analysis for individual trades, analysis of positions held in portfolio, reporting, risk management, portfolio operations (accounting, safekeeping), and board and committee meeting material preparation and presentation.

Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities

• Assist the Assistant Treasurer/Treasurer in all aspects of managing the securities investment portfolio
• Contribute to the development and implementation of the investment strategy
• Analyze bonds and other instruments for individual trades, maintain knowledge of multiple fixed income markets, and communicate developments and recommendations to the investment team
• Assist in analyzing credit risk, interest rate risk, prepayment risk and other risks for current and potential investments
• Monitor economic and regulatory developments and communicate updates to appropriate internal parties
• Perform monthly portfolio analysis and reporting, reconcile position and performance reports among bond accounting reports, custodial reports, back-office, and other sources to ensure complete accuracy for all end-users of the financial reports
• Lead monthly discussions for the Treasury team focused on the analysis performed and future initiatives
• Prepare meeting materials for Board of Directors and ALCO meetings
• Perform counterparty credit reviews as necessary and act as the main contact for the onboarding of new counterparty relationships
• Coordinate with back-office teams to ensure proper booking of trades as well as timely and accurate settlement of trades
• Complete bond accounting and safekeeping activities for all investments
• Daily monitoring of existing investments for changes in risk and changes in appropriate investment allocation
• Perform ad hoc reporting and analysis as necessary
• Ensure adherence to policy and procedures
• Prepare memorandums as needed regarding key portfolio management tasks
• Act as backup for Treasury Analyst is their daily cash management and collateral pledging duties

Experience and Education

• 1-3 years' experience with investment analysis, risk management or related field
• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance or related area preferred, or equivalent experience.
• CFA designation is a plus
