Assists the CRA Officer in the documentation, tracking and analysis of lending data for the Bank consistent with the requirements of the Community Reinvestment Act (CRA) and the Home Mortgage Disclosure Act (HMDA). Performs quality control and testing to assess compliance with CRA and HMDA.


Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:


  • Maintains a good working knowledge of the requirements of the Community Reinvestment Act (CRA) and the Home Mortgage Disclosure Act (HMDA) to assist in preparation and maintenance of the loan application registers (LARs).
  • Identifies and reviews CRA and HMDA reportable loans/applications across all business lines in accordance with established policies and procedures to ensure regulatory compliance. Scope of reviews to be determined by CRA Officer. Establishes CRA worksheets for all new customers (including acquisitions), ensuring accuracy of information. Works with loan officers to update CRA Worksheets and ITI system when new financial information is received or base of operations changes.
  • Coordinates with various departments within the Bank to resolve any inconsistencies in CRA and HMDA data and recommends changes as warranted to ensure the accuracy of the data.
  • Assists/advises other departments with CRA and HMDA-related issues.
  • Assists the CRA Officer with the annual CRA and HMDA submissions, regulatory examinations or ad-hoc assignments as required.
  • Reports any potential concerns about non-compliance with CRA or HMDA regulatory requirements to the CRA Officer.
  • Ensures the CRA and HMDA LARs are accurate within thirty calendar days after the end of each calendar quarter and ensures errors found during data integrity reviews are corrected.
  • Performs monthly downloads for CRA and HMDA data from Loan Origination Systems to CRA Wiz.
  • Oversees required re-geocoding due to Census Tact changes based on new Census Information.
  • Identifies loans that qualify for community development credit, ensures proper coding for reporting, and provides supporting documentation to the CRA officer.
  • Analyzes loan data and prepares reports and maps upon request utilizing CRA Wiz software.
  • Cross-sell bank products and services in a professional manner.
  • Complete required training associated with job function.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.



Qualifications

Education/Experience:


  • Associates Degree or minimum 2 years loan experience preferred.
  • Minimum 2 years banking experience.



Skills:


  • Good computer skills. Good knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet functions.
  • Good working knowledge of CRA and HMDA regulatory requirements.
  • Experience working with CRA WIZ or a comparable tool a plus.
  • Working knowledge and understanding of loans and the Bank's lending policies and procedures.
  • Ability to work independently, problem solve and make decisions with minimal supervision.
  • Strong communication skills. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions. Willingness to take initiative to investigate and resolve issues.
  • Must be able to work with a significant amount of detailed information in an accurate, timely and confidential manner.
  • High level of interpersonal skills to interact with loan officers and loan support staff.
  • Adequate knowledge of both internal policies and procedures and the respective state and federal laws and regulations governing departmental functions to ensure performance of individual job duties within the proper control environment.
  • Willingness to travel to other bank locations
