Position Summary:
We are seeking a Technical Product Support Specialist to join our team and provide expert technical and scientific support across Calumet's product offerings. This role is ideal for a seasoned professional with a strong background in petroleum base oils, petrochemical refining, and lubrication products. You will serve as a technical and regulatory voice, helping to develop product and application knowledge and supporting both internal teams and external customers.


Key Responsibilities:



  • Provide technical and regulatory guidance on Calumet products, practices, and processes.
  • Respond to customer inquiries regarding product characteristics, handling, degradation, and performance.
  • Build and maintain strong technical relationships with customers to identify opportunities for expanded support.
  • Attend customer and internal site visits as a technical expert to support sales initiatives.
  • Coordinate customer requests with manufacturing capabilities to develop new or revised products.
  • Resolve customer concerns related to product quality or performance.
  • Participate in cross-functional teams to improve products and processes.
  • Support market development efforts by sharing new application and product knowledge.
  • Collaborate with international organizations for information exchange.
  • Assist in managing product specifications and documentation.


Required Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
  • 5-7+ years of experience in petroleum base oils, petrochemical refining, lubrication products, and laboratory testing.
  • Willingness to travel 10-15% for customer visits, refinery support, and technical committee participation.


Preferred Qualifications:



  • STLE OMA I certification highly desirable.
  • Broad knowledge of petroleum products and applications, especially base oils, lubricants, and waxes.
  • Experience with white mineral oils, petrolatum, gelled hydrocarbons, hydrocarbon solvents, asphalts, and fuels.
  • Strong client-facing experience in a refinery or laboratory setting.
