Role Description
Cisco's Enterprise DevOps as a Service (EDaaS) team is looking for a DevOps Engineer to help with identification and resolution of operational performance while applying security best practices across our portfolio of DevOps tools. EDaaS is a fast-paced group working to modernize and evolve development workflows in Cisco IT & Engineering with modern, cloud-native tools and processes. The ideal candidate is self-motivated to gather, manage, and analyze large amounts of data to drive insights and decision-making. Responsibilities of This Role Lead all things DevOps for highly critical custom developed application. Lead automation of infrastructure provisioning , configuration management, build , release, and monitoring of large set of microservices and applications. Lead stability, performance and debugging of production / development / QA infrastructure Enhance monitoring and log analysis systems Required Skills and Experience 7+ years of recent Linux/Unix administration with emphasis on RedHat 7+ years of scripting experience (Python, Bash, etc.) 7+ years of server (tomcat /Apache) maintain experience Deep understanding build & release management of applications written in Java, Python and various JavaScript framework. Experience administering a combination of the following categories of DevOps tools: Source code management tools (GitHub Enterprise) Build automation tools (Jenkins, CircleCI, Travis CI) Artifact management tools (Artifactory, GitLFS, Maven) Experience working with REST APIs (Java, Python, JavaScript) Experience with Configuration Management platforms, tools, and processes (Puppet, Ansible) Basic understanding of computer networking (OSI layers, DNS, etc.) Experience generally with troubleshooting in a diverse technical environment Well-versed with Git and various workflows (forking, gitflow, etc.) General knowledge of reverse proxy systems (Nginx, HAProxy, Apache, etc.) Desired Skills and Experience Preference will be given to candidates with experience performing administration and monitoring at an enterprise level custom application Experience in applying security best practices to Linux environments Experience applying monitoring technologies to application systems (Splunk Integration, AppDynamics, etc.) Production experience in provisioning / setting up new infrastructure. For non-sales roles, employees are also eligible to earn annual bonuses subject to Cisco's policies. Employees on sales plans earn performance-based incentive pay on top of their base salary, which is split between quota and non-quota components, subject to the applicable Cisco plan. For quota-based incentive pay, Cisco typically pays as follows:
For non-quota-based sales performance elements such as strategic sales objectives, Cisco may pay 0% up to 125% of target. Cisco sales plans do not have a minimum threshold of performance for sales incentive compensation to be paid. The applicable full salary ranges for this position, by specific state, are listed below: New York City Metro Area: $165,000.00 - $277,600.00Non-Metro New York state & Washington state: $146,700.00 - $247,000.00* For quota-based sales roles on Cisco's sales plan, the ranges provided in this posting include base pay and sales target incentive compensation combined. ** Employees in Illinois, whether exempt or non-exempt, will participate in a unique time off program to meet local requirements. | |
