POSITION SUMMARY: The Commercial Development Manager - Starbucks by Nespresso will drive the strategic alignment between Nespresso and Nestle Coffee and Beverage, fostering a long-term partnership that enhances organizational goals. As the primary liaison for SBU topics, this role will collaborate with various teams-including SBU, NABs, and Marketing-to influence and execute our strategy effectively. By overseeing governance and optimizing our partnership, the manager will ensure that our collective efforts are focused and impactful, ultimately advancing our strategic objectives. This hybrid opportunity offers the best of both worlds. With 2 days per week based at Nespresso USA's NYC Manhattan Herald Square office, you will have the chance to collaborate with colleagues, build strong relationships, and engage in face-to-face interactions. The remaining days, you will have the flexibility to work remotely, allowing you to maximize your productivity and maintain a healthy work-life balance. RESPONSIBILITIES: Strategic Leadership:
- Drive the strategic intent of SBUXs by Nespresso, aligning objectives with Nestle Coffee and Beverage
- Develop and implement strategies that support the long-term ambitions of both Nespresso and Nestle Coffee and Beverage
Performance Measurement:
- Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the success of strategic initiatives
- Regularly report on progress and outcomes to senior management, providing insights and recommendations for future actions
- Work to maximize the partnership's effectiveness, ensuring that both Nespresso and Nestle are aligned and energized behind the strategic intent
- Identify and leverage opportunities for joint initiatives that enhance brand visibility and market penetration
Collaboration and Communication:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for leading Starbucks by Nespresso topics with Nestle Coffee and Beverage, Nespresso Approved Brands (NABs), Marketing, and customer-facing teams
- Facilitate effective communication and collaboration among all stakeholders to ensure a unified approach to strategy execution
Governance & Stakeholder management:
- Oversee governance processes between Nespresso and Nestle Coffee and Beverage, ensuring clarity in roles, responsibilities, and expectations
- Monitor and evaluate partnership performance, identifying areas for improvement and optimization
- Manage NCB & Nespresso T2T meetings to drive strategic intent
- Ensure constant alignment with NABs on roadmap and key initiatives
- Co-ordinate Bi-annual summits and Integrated Commercial Planning between NCB & Nespresso to align commercial and innovation pipeline
- Ensure clear governance between Nespresso and NCB teams across customer facing teams
- Partner with marketing to ensure brand identities are understood and respected
- Liaise with Compliance to ensure SBUXs MAPP policy is adhered to
REQUIREMENTS:
- Education : Bachelor's Degree required, preferably in Business, Marketing/Digital Marketing, Finance, or Economics
- Experience: 5+ years retail, CPG, wholesale or DTC work experience
- Project Coordination: Skilled in aligning team efforts across disciplines, ensuring clarity in roles, responsibilities, and timelines to drive project success
- Project Management: Experience managing complex projects from inception to completion, including planning, resource allocation, risk management, and stakeholder engagement
- Collaboration: Ability to foster a collaborative environment, promoting open communication and leveraging team strengths to enhance performance
- Leadership: Strong leadership qualities to motivate team members and drive commitment to shared goals while effectively navigating challenges
- Analytical Skills: Proficient in analyzing complex data sets and market trends to derive actionable insights for strategic decision-making and business growth
- Problem-Solving: Ability to identify root causes of challenges and develop innovative solutions that consider both short-term and long-term implications
- Market Analysis: Experience conducting competitive analyses and market assessments to identify differentiation opportunities
- Critical Thinking: Demonstrated capacity to think critically and strategically, applying logical reasoning to evaluate options and make informed recommendations aligned with organizational objectives
- Adaptability: Strong adaptability to changing circumstances, with the ability to pivot strategies based on new information or evolving market dynamics
- Presentation Skills: Proven ability to create and deliver compelling presentations that effectively communicate strategic initiatives and insights to diverse audiences, including senior management and cross-functional teams. Proficient in presentation tools (e.g., PowerPoint, Keynote)
The approximate pay range for this position is $150,000- $170,000 base. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Final compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to knowledge, skills, and abilities as well as geographic location.
