 Position Summary
 PositionSummary:
 TheUniversity of New Mexico School of Law invites applications for a full-time, tenured
 or tenured-track faculty position to teach in its Legal Analysis and Communication Program, starting in
 the Fall of 2026.
 Faculty in the program are responsible for teachingElements of Legal Argumentation I & II, the law school's required
 first-year legal writing sequence. ELA I & II focus on developing students'
 skills in legal reading, research, analysis, and communication. The program's faculty
 members typically teach two first-year sections of approximately 15-20 students
 each (or 30-40 students total). They also teach upper-level writing courses,
 and the successful candidate will be expected to help design and implement the
 program's upper-level writing curriculum. At UNM, legal writing faculty serve
 on all law school committees (including serving as chairs of committees), and
 are eligible for summer research and teaching grants. The Legal Analysis and
 Communication Program is a director-led program that values close collaboration
 and quality teaching.

 Qualifications
 Minimum Qualifications: 
 Candidates must possess a J.D. or equivalent legal degreeTwo years of post-J.D. legal work experience Preferred Qualifications: 
 Demonstrated research and writing abilityExperience teaching legal analysis and all forms of communication related to that analysis in a law school or other professional settingDemonstrated ability to represent the interests of a client in writingDemonstrated ability to work collaboratively with other faculty members or other professional colleaguesDemonstrated ability to diagnose writing problemsA demonstrated commitment to cultivate an understanding of the rich and varied cultures of New Mexico and to the success of the university's mission to serve local and global communities.
