National Architectural Manager - Position Overview:


Must reside in/within 1 hour of New York City. The work territory will encompass New York state and northern New Jersey. This position is to be a home office.


The Regional Architectural Manager will be the key connection to architects to achieve Flat Glass sales objectives in the Commercial Construction segment. The successful candidate will work to attain Vitro Construction Marketing Team objectives by identifying and managing key construction projects being designed in an assigned geographical territory. The primary audience will be architects, general contractors, facade consultants, owner / developers, glazing contractors, and certified fabricators (direct customers).



Responsibilities:



  • Build relationships with channel influencers who develop and implement product specifications
  • Assist and direct architects through the product selection process for commercial projects
  • Mine new project leads and develop project leads with Vitro specifications for direct customers
  • Educate architects and other channel influencers on glass, new products and tools
  • Identify and connect with key architect, general contractor and developer targets within the region and on key projects to influence Vitro glass sales.
  • Coordinate development efforts with the Architectural Resources Team
  • Co-manage territory with the Sales Account Manager to meet business sales and share objectives
  • Work with Sales Account Manager to develop Certified Network capabilities through customer sales team development, integrated project review meetings and targeted project lead generation
  • Develop and document business development strategies for each market within the region to meet business objectives.
  • Utilize Vitro sales, technical service and other functions along with Certified Network customers to close the sale on key projects
  • Build market knowledge and key business relationships within the territory to:


    • Identify growth opportunities
    • Support new product development and promotion efforts
    • Provide ongoing marketing intelligence


  • Participate in key industry events to represent Vitro at local, regional and national levels
  • Travel will be at least 20%; expectation of 50-75% of each week working in the field


Qualifications:



Requires a college degree in business or technical field along with:



  • Market development or sales competency
  • Knowledge of the commercial construction industry, architectural glass fabrication or glass manufacturing
  • Experience in business development, sales, marketing or equivalent field
  • Working within a CRM (Customer Relationship Management) system for a project pipeline, stakeholder relationships, interactions, etc.



Functional and Technical Skills:



  • A proven self-starter able to work independently to achieve team and individual goals
  • Outstanding organizational skills with an ability to prioritize multiple tasks effectively and respond quickly to unexpected changes
  • Strong analytical skills to be able to understand, apply and convey complex construction related market, product, technical and design information
  • Attention to detail including potential ramifications of alternatives and strong follow-up
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to interact with multiple channel levels to build relationships and trust
  • Knowledge and experience in the glass, construction, or architectural channel
  • Management of multiple projects in the business development cycle valued at $50MM
  • Business development, sales, customer support or other customer facing experience
  • Engaging presenter for both in-person and virtual trainings
  • A proven problem solver who provides solutions and does not quit after being told "no"
  • Not afraid to fail or receive rejection
  • Manage commercial projects through the design and construction cycle
