Your Role:

The Senior IT Project Manager I is responsible for leading and delivering large-scale, strategic, IT-intensive projects and programs across multiple global sites, with a focus on biotechnology and life sciences environments. This role manages a portfolio of business-critical initiatives, directing cross-functional teams to ensure successful, on-time, and on-budget execution while maintaining full compliance with industry regulations. Core responsibilities include resource planning, risk and change management, executive stakeholder communication, cost optimization, and the delivery of integrated, enterprise-level project solutions.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:



  • Manage a portfolio of large-scale, complex, and business-critical IT programs and projects with global reach, ensuring alignment with strategic business objectives.
  • Develop and execute project plans, including defining scope, schedules, budgets, resource needs, and risk mitigation strategies.
  • Lead cross-functional teams across departments and global locations, including coordination with third-party vendors and consultants.
  • Monitor and report project metrics and performance (budget, schedule, resource allocation, risk, scope, etc.).
  • Drive stakeholder communication and change management across all organizational levels.
  • Lead project testing and support validation activities when needed.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert by providing coaching and training to internal teams and end users.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation, workflows, training materials, and quality assurance processes.
  • Identify opportunities and evaluate internal cost savings.
  • Ensure compliance with GMP and other relevant regulatory and industry-specific standards.


Requirements:



  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering, Information Systems, Biotechnology, Business Administration, or a related field required, with a minimum of 8 years of experience, OR Master's degree, MBA, in a related with a minimum of 6 years of experience or equivalent to a PhD and 3 years of experience.
  • Proven track record managing complex, cross-functional IT infrastructure or enterprise system projects (e.g., SAP, MES, LIMS, M&A, site deployments).
  • Experience working in multi-site and international project teams.
  • Prior exposure to stakeholder management at executive and board level.
  • Experience in evaluating and implementing cost savings during project execution.


Certifications:



  • PMP, PRINCE2 Practitioner, or an equivalent certification is required.
  • Agile certification or significant Agile project experience is required.


Skills:



  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Deep understanding of IT infrastructure, systems integration, and business process alignment.
  • Ability to create and deliver clear training materials and communications to effectively explain projects, systems, and processes to diverse stakeholders.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to deliver clear, compelling presentations to senior stakeholders and executives.
  • Proficient in typical project management tools (e.g., ServiceNow, MS Project, etc.)
  • Ability to manage projects in high-compliance environments (GMP, FDA-regulated).
  • Strong cross-cultural collaboration skills; ability to lead diverse, distributed teams effectively.

Work Environment:

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. This job is performed in a temperature-controlled facility without exposure to extreme hot or cold temperatures. Generally, this job is performed in a sanitized laboratory setting and routinely uses standard medical and research equipment such as centrifuges, biosafety cabinets, microscopes, incubators, pipettes and computers. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to blood, viruses, bacteria, body fluids and other tissues. Employees entering and leaving the laboratory must wear appropriate clothing and protective equipment such as scrubs, coveralls, masks, glasses and gloves. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

The anticipated base salary range has been established at $145,400-196,700/year. The hiring range for this position is expected to fall between $145,400-161,000/year, reflecting the range candidates can reasonably expect to be considered for at time of offer, based on factors such as experience, internal equity, and qualifications.

The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of considerations, including but not limited to internal equity, experience, education, specialization, skills, abilities, and training. The above range represents the Company's good faith and reasonable estimate of possible compensation at the time of posting.

In addition to your salary, the Company offers a comprehensive benefits package, including health, vision, and dental insurance, as well as a 401(k) plan. All benefits are subject to eligibility requirements. Certain positions may also be eligible for additional compensation such as bonuses or commissions.
