Job Summary Mesa Community College is seeking a skilled and motivated Plumber Senior to join our outstanding Facilities team. This position performs advanced plumbing work, including the installation, maintenance, and repair of water, sewer, and related systems across two campuses and more than 1 million square feet of facilities. Essential Functions 75% Repairs plumbing and piping systems and fixtures for water, gas, steam, compressed air, storm drainage, waste disposal systems, underground gas and water system isolation valves; clears pipes and grease traps; completes plumbing work orders as needed. 15% Inspects backflows, flush valves, water heaters, water main valves, emergency eyewash stations, natural gas, RO and DI systems, steam, and compressed air; reviews blueprints for plumbing related projects. 10% Estimates job costs, purchases materials, coordinates work, oversees subcontractors, maintains required inspection logs, and provides preventive maintenance recommendations. Minimum Qualifications High School Diploma or GED and five (5) years of experience performing plumbing work equivalent to journey-level which includes serving in a lead role in journey-level plumbing work or the performance of advanced, or more technical and complex plumbing work. OR An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above, unless otherwise subject to any other requirements set forth in law or regulation. There is no substitution or equivalency allowable for the High School Diploma or GED. Journey-level card/license required Desired Qualifications A. (5) years of experience repairing all plumbing systems to include backflows, domestic water, sewer, natural gas, and compressed air. B. Knowledge of and implementation of the 2018 Uniform Plumbing code (UPC) C. Experience working with plumbing equipment to include; operating loaders, backhoes, and trenchers, drain snakes and pipe cameras. D. (5) years of experience working in an educational or commercial institution. Special Working Conditions
