Job Summary

Responsible for developing community employment opportunities and providing community-based job development. The person in this position will work in consultation with the Competitive Integrated Employment (CIE) team during the entire employment process for an individual with a disability.

Primary Duties

The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and ability required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. These duties and responsibilities will be rated on the Annual Performance Review.

  • Conduct intakes, inventories, and assessments to establish employment goals
  • Conduct activities for job searches and placement.
  • Provide job coaching and long-term support services.
  • Develop positive relationships with businesses, community agencies, other departments, and outside vendors.
  • Perform general case management including detailed report writing.

Additional Responsibilities

Complete accurate and timely monthly billing reports, participant reports, case notes, and other supporting documentation

  • Perform task and job-site analysis on selected sites to assure appropriate job matches.
  • Provide consultation, guidance, and disability awareness training (as needed) to employers and business representatives.
  • Coordinate and participate in interdisciplinary team process and other meetings pertaining to participant's individual support plan; prepare annual individual support plans.
  • Provide assistance to participants creating resumes.
  • Prepare participants for interviews, providing instruction concerning dress, greeting people, responding to, and asking questions. Provides personal assistance required for successful work experience/ hiring process.
  • Perform other related responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications: Education, Experience and Certification(s)

  • High school diploma or General Educational Development (GED) required. Associate degree in a related field is preferred.
  • ACRE Certification required within 90 days.
  • Discovery Certification requires within 180 days.
  • Flexibility to work outside of normal business hours, to include evenings and weekends is preferred.
  • One year of experience working with individuals with disabilities preferred.
  • Pass and maintain Department of Human Services background clearance required.
  • Knowledge of supported employment, and job training issues for persons with disabilities preferred.
  • Valid driver's license and/or access to reliable transportation to perform work-related travel required. Eligible drivers must have a good motor vehicle record (MVR).

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Ability to interact positively with individuals with disabilities.
  • Must possess excellent oral/verbal communication skills.
  • Must be detail oriented and have exceptional organizational skills.
  • Must be Proficient in Microsoft Office skills and OneDrive.
  • Must possess the ability to become familiar with corporate-specific programs and software.

Supervision Received

The incumbent normally receives little instruction on day-to-day work and receives general instructions on new assignments.

The employee will be visiting a variety of employer worksites in the community, which can vary with regards to noise level and weather/temperature conditions.
