Buckeye Partners is currently seeking a Lead, Pipeline O&M Services Specialist with experience in the Oil & Gas Industry to join our growing team!

Role Summary:

The Lead, Pipeline O&M Services Specialist role is responsible for supporting the development, management and consistent application of pipeline operations and maintenance programs.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities include:




  • Operations and Maintenance Program Support:

    • Provide subject matter expertise to the development and maintenance of Pipeline O&M manuals, procedures, guidance and tools in support of safe and reliable pipeline operations and preventative maintenance programs. Support Regional Operations in the management of local operating procedures ensuring alignment to program requirements.
    • Maintain knowledge of compliance requirements and industry best practices related to Pipeline Operations and Maintenance.
    • Support field operations in the implementation of the Pipeline O&M Program requirements to ensure safe and reliable operations including regular engagement with Regional Operations Advisors and Operations Specialists.
    • Participate in audit and assessment activities related to Center of Excellence audit and assessment programs. Ensure appropriate corrective actions are identified as outcomes to those activities.
    • Support the development and implementation of Pipeline O&M training programs, including operations training and training academies.
    • Provide Pipeline Operations subject matter expertise to support the selection, design, and maintenance of tools and technologies to support operations efficiencies and effectiveness.
    • Participate and/or lead investigations for operations and maintenance incidents. Complete investigations and assign corrective actions as necessary. Develop Lessons Learned when applicable.
    • Assist in responding to Operations related incidents and emergencies.
    • Support identification, planning, development, and implementation of targeted continuous improvement opportunities including initiatives and projects. Maintain effective engagement and change management to support realization of the improvement objectives.
    • Support terminal operations and ensure alignment with the O&M program standards, including development and maintenance of terminal operating procedures, operations tools and technology, safety practices, and compliance protocols. Collaborate with terminal personnel to identify and implement improvements in terminal operations, safety performance, and preventative maintenance.




  • Due Diligence and Integration Support

    • Support Due Diligence activities related to potential Pipeline acquisitions and contract operations activities.
    • Support integration efforts including providing transition support, new employee orientation, and procedure gap analysis.
    • Provide training and start-up support to Field Operations for new pipeline installations and modifications.
    • Act as primary lead for supporting field operations to ensure all Operations & Maintenance tasks are completed and documented related to integration and/or removal of contract operations activities.




  • And other duties as assigned.



Position Requirements:



  • Bachelor's Degree required, preferably in an Engineering-related discipline. Equivalent Operations experience will be considered in place of a degree.
  • 8+ years of Oil and Gas operations experience, including a thorough knowledge of pipeline operations and maintenance requirements.
  • Strong organization and analytical skills are required.
  • Strong communication (oral, written and presentation) skills are required, as well as strong interpersonal skills. Problem-solving skills are also essential.
  • Up to 50% travel.



Certificates & Licenses:



  • Valid driver's license in the State of employment.



Other Skills, Attributes and Abilities:



  • Strong leadership, management, communication, collaboration and organizational skills are critical.
  • In order to be successful in this position, one must possess a strong mechanical aptitude and excellent quantitative skills.
  • This position requires someone who can work well under pressure and has a strong commitment to safety.



Physical & Safety Requirements:



  • Position may require exposure to adverse weather conditions, hazardous environments, and require the physical stamina to climb tanks and work long hours in the field.
