Description

This position is responsible for managing the Foundation's scholarship awards program Foundation AwardSpring software coordination and management of Foundation grants along with corporate relations. The position receives general direction from the Executive Director and coordinates work with the Donor Information & Database Coordinator and Alumni Engagement & Special Events Coordinator. Considerable interaction with college offices and the general public and donors promoting the scholarship program and assisting with special events.


Description of Essential Functions (critical tasks)

Essential Job Functions:

  1. Lead communication channels for scholarship donors (i.e. donor acknowledgments student connections college employee donors)
  2. Leads the new Foundation scholarship software. This position will serve as the primary liaison between Lake Land College and scholarship software management.
  3. Improve foundation scholarship program planning communication training and documentation to ensure the effective use of funds and resources toward enrollment goals and initiatives.
  4. Serves as liaison between the scholarship recipients and donors to provide good stewardship and customer service.
  5. Responsible for scholarship donor records gift entry back up providing scholarship donor receipting and pledge reminders management of all scholarship gift agreements including drafting of new scholarships and amendments of former gift agreements.
  6. Lead process to determine annual and endowed scholarship amounts through Foundation budget report. This position oversees the volunteer group and is the primary contact for Foundation Board Review regarding scholarship applications and awards.
  7. Manages review and selection of foundation scholarship applicants collaboratively with the Financial Aid Scholarship Specialist. Develop and implement the scholarship selection process adhering to internal policies and any state and national regulations on selection equality and process consistency. Ensuring scholarship criteria are followed during selection process and during disbursement of funds. Responsible for maintaining scholarship records to ensure accurate reporting.
  8. Primary lead for corporate grant opportunities through the Foundation to write and facilitate coordination of external scholarship grants with appropriate College divisions/areas. Management of the grant related donations and facilitation of the appropriate reports.
  9. Identifies and researches new scholarship opportunities for annual scholarship prospects. Serves as the lead to communicate with businesses to help select criteria. Works with internal departments to ensure criteria are viable and able to be met.
  10. Leads development preparation maintenance and distribution of Foundation scholarship donor specific informative pieces brochures and programs etc.
  11. Provides support into the ongoing maintenance of scholarship donor information both current and past to assist in the retention of scholarship donors.
  12. Assists with the annual audit process for the Lake Land College Foundation.
  13. Assists with Foundation special events as needed and serves as a lead for the annual scholarship/donor receptions.
  14. Assists the Executive Director with special projects reviews and identifies Foundation policies to help streamline processes. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Specific Functional Job Requirements

Education Requirements:

  • Bachelors degree required. Masters degree preferred. Preference given to degrees in information technology, business, finance, accounting.

Experience Requirements:
    Experience with scholarship management and grants preferred. Exceptional verbal and written communication skills. Outstanding organizational and planning skills with simultaneous multiple projects.

Knowledge:
    Understanding the process of scholarship management and operations, development, special events and fundraising operations for a college or non-profit. Advanced level of knowledge with technology and automation to improve efficiency.

Skills:

Personal Requirements:
    Ability to work both independently and collaboratively with various campus representatives. Must be extremely analytical, well organized, detailed and reliable. Strong customer service mindset. Articulate in both verbal and written communications.
