Overview

Dr. Masudul Imtiaz at Clarkson University seeks a highly skilled Post-Doctoral Scholar to contribute to cutting-edge research in biometric recognition at the AI Vision, Health, Biometrics, and Applied Computing (AVHBAC) laboratory and the Center for Identification Technology Research. The position is for 6 months, starting from Aug 18th.



Responsibilities

The successful candidate will engage in the development, implementation, and evaluation of advanced machine learning and deep learning algorithms specifically focused on biometric systems. Research will encompass various biometric modalities, including fingerprint, face, iris, and voice recognition, and emphasize applications in security, identity verification, and healthcare contexts.



Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

* Ph.D. in Electrical and Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related fields.
* Demonstrated expertise in machine learning and deep learning techniques.
* Proven experience in biometric recognition systems (e.g., fingerprint, facial recognition, iris, or voice biometrics).
* Strong record of scholarly publication, technical writing, and ability to communicate complex technical concepts effectively.

Preferred Qualifications:
* Experience with biometric dataset curation, algorithm benchmarking, and performance evaluation.
* Proficiency with Python, MATLAB, TensorFlow, PyTorch, or similar computational tools and frameworks.
* Ability to independently manage research projects and collaborate effectively within interdisciplinary teams.
