Job Description

JOB DESCRIPTION:




  • Performs dimensional and visual inspection of fabricated parts.



ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:




  • Performs basic dimensional and visual inspection of parts
  • Assists with the incoming inspection of purchased parts and materials.
  • Conducts final inspection of completed product.
  • Utilizes precision measuring devices and electronic test equipment to ensure compliance of parts and product with established specifications.
  • Maintains record of inspections and prepares lists of defects needing correction.
  • Performs first article inspection and in-process verification as required.
  • Interacts with external agencies to ensure compliance with specifications and to facilitate the acceptance of parts.
  • Performs other related duties to verify and correct quality problems in parts or finished product.
  • Prepares and maintains required inspection records.

Requirements

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, EDUCATION, AND ABILITIES:




  • Minimum of one year of previous inspection experience using measuring instruments and interpreting blueprint.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to utilize all inspection tools and gauges.
  • Ability to properly complete all required documentation.
  • Good math, verbal and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge of metric system.
  • Able to focus on small details.
  • Must be able to learn to identify macro/micro discrepancies.
  • Help maintain 5S of inspection area.
  • High School diploma



PHYSICAL LIMITATIONS:




  • Lift and Carry: Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly and up to 75 pounds occasionally
  • Standing & Walking: Ability to stand for extended periods and walk long distances, often on concrete or uneven surfaces and up and down steps.
  • Repetitive Motion: Capable of performing repetitive tasks, including grasping, lifting, twisting and bending.
  • Hand-eye coordination: Ability to use hands and fingers to handle and feel objects, tools, and controls and make quick, precise adjustments to machine controls.
  • Fine Motor Skills: Ability to use manual dexterity to operate levers, buttons, and controls
  • Vision & Attention to Detail: good close, distance, and peripheral vision, as well as the ability to adjust focus and ensure safe operations, including reading gauges and safety indicators.
  • Physical Stamina: Ability to maintain focus and physical energy throughout the workday, which may include handling loads, stacking, and organizing materials in a fast-paced environment.
  • Balance & Mobility: Must have good balance and be able to move freely in tight spaces.
  • Environmental Conditions: Ability to work in various conditions including varying temperatures, exposure to manufacturing oils and fluids and moderate noise levels.
