Job Description The Director of Product Management is responsible for coordination and management of the property & casualty product management group, ultimately being responsible for the profitability and growth of the related lines of business. To achieve this objective, the director will have management responsibilities and possibly regional product management responsibilities including providing product vision and direction to a multiple functional team, leading the growth and profitability review process, and partnering with the field sales force. The Director, Regional Product Management must interface with all departments and lead the Regional Product Management team. Lastly, the Director, Regional Product Management will be responsible for regional product decisions and communicating the regional product status/vision to senior management. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: * Manages the Product Managers and Product Management Analysts including mentoring, coaching, performance reviews, clearing obstacles and prioritization of tasks. * Creates and drives an overall commercial lines product vision and direction ensuring all commercial lines are integrated and working toward the corporate goals * Creates the necessary reports and metrics for monitoring the profitability and growth of the book. * Partners with the field, field management and field advisories group to develop profitable growth solutions that meet our clients' needs. * Maintains an awareness of internal / external forces, business directions, and financial dynamics that can significantly impact future profitability and growth of the product. * Makes fact based strategic decisions based upon a knowledge of the market, which includes competitors, regulatory and legal environment, and field direction and based upon internal direction such as premium and loss trends and corporate strategy. * Works with the PMO team to recommend and procure cost effective product and service solutions to maximize cost efficiency and increase revenue. * Leads and coordinates critical internal processes including the Regional Product Management Process. * Recommends and manages product changes targeted to desired client segments or markets. * Acts as a central point of reference and a leader in regional product meetings. * Organizes, leads and facilitates the growth and profitability reviews. * Generates and manages product plans (road maps) that schedule and coordinate current and future product enhancement projects. QUALIFICATIONS: * Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Finance or related field. * 5 years of Product Management experience. * Minimum of 10 years U/W, Claims, Actuarial or related commercial insurance industry.
