POSITION OVERVIEW AND PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS):

Alutiiq Career Ventures, LLC, a subsidiary of Alutiiq, LLC has a potential opportunity for a Space Training Developer supporting operations for Mission Delta 31 Space Force in Colorado Springs, CO. The Space Training Developer delivers advanced academic and simulator-based instruction for GPS space operations. Develops and maintains all training courseware and performance-based materials to meet U.S. Air Force (AF) and U.S. Space Force (USSF) standards.


This opportunity is for a POTENTIAL CONTRACT award and is contingent upon the contract being awarded. Consideration of a potential contract may require a signed letter of intent. If the contract is awarded, another position posting will be available on the Company Careers portal.



  • Independently develop, revise, and manage training materials, lesson plans, performance-based scenarios, and assessments for Mission Qualification Training, Combat Training (CT), Readiness Training (RT), Special Training Certification (STC), and Ready Space crew Program in compliance with AFMAN 36-2675, exercising discretion in instructional design and curriculum alignment.
  • Lead collaboration with Subject Matter Experts and operational leadership to ensure courseware reflects current mission profiles, evolving threats, and platform capabilities; provide final review and approval for assigned training products.
  • Serve as augmentation for both classroom and mission-based simulator training, including Basic Qualification Training (BQT) and STC; independently plan, deliver, and assess instruction without direct supervision.
  • Manage version control and oversee validation of training scenarios and deliverables (A006-A008); supervise updates in accordance with contractual and operational timelines.
  • Direct communication and dissemination of courseware changes through instructor updates, training briefings, and formal documentation; act as point of contact for internal reviews and stakeholder feedback.
  • Coordinate and execute up to 82 classes per year across CT, RT, and BQT programs, providing mission-based simulator instruction with full autonomy in administration, execution, and instructional methods.
  • Leads courseware development using Instructional Systems Design methodology with minimal oversight; integrates AFMAN standards with operational context to design custom learning solutions.


Payrate:$75,025 to $82,222 Annually

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • 5+ years of experience developing and delivering U.S. Air Force/USSF space training programs.
  • Bachelor's degree in Instructional Design, Aerospace Studies, or related field.
  • Direct experience writing lesson plans, developing test materials, and designing scenario-based instruction.
  • Previous support to BQT, STC, or other space operations training pipelines.
  • Formal USAF/USSF Instructor Certification (e.g., Basic Instructor Course).
  • Strong working knowledge of AFMAN 36-2675 and ISD process.
  • Active Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) clearance.
  • Familiarity with space system employment, orbital mechanics, and current space control doctrine.
