BASIC PURPOSE:


The primary responsibility of the Cybersecurity and Network Engineer is to support the confidentiality, availability, and integrity of company critical systems, as well as the development of system and security requirements and design, configuration of security and infrastructure systems, monitoring of security and network systems, and reporting on abnormal activities. The Engineer will support the design of secure network systems, configuration of critical network hardware and systems, and troubleshooting, and will have a lead role in the design and implementation of security requirements for cloud and non-cloud infrastructure.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:


Network Engineering

  • Design, deploy, and maintain LAN/WAN infrastructure, including firewalls, routers, switches, and wireless networks.
  • Monitor network performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure optimal uptime and reliability.
  • Implement network segmentation, VLANs, and QoS to optimize traffic flow and security.
  • Manage VPNs, remote access, and cloud networking configurations.
  • Administer SSL certificates and ensure secure communication across systems.


Cybersecurity Engineering

  • Develop and enforce security policies, procedures, and standards aligned with industry best practices.
  • Conduct security architecture design and implementation across on-prem and cloud environments.
  • Perform network and system log reviews, event and incident investigations, and threat detection and response.
  • Administer and monitor security tools including firewalls, IDS/IPS, SIEM, DLP, IAM, EDR, and encryption technologies.
  • Manage security for O365 technologies and cloud platforms (AWS and Azure).
  • Conduct vulnerability assessments, penetration testing, and risk analysis.


Cloud Security Focus

  • Implement and manage cloud security controls in AWS and Azure environments.
  • Review and analyze AWS logs (CloudTrail, GuardDuty) for threat detection and incident response.
  • Utilize AWS services such as IAM, S3, EC2, EKS, VPC, Inspector, Security Hub, Config, and Macie.
  • Secure Azure services including AzureAD, Virtual Machines, AKS, VNet, Defender for Cloud, and Security Center.
  • Apply Infrastructure as Code (IaC), DevOps, and DevSecOps principles to secure cloud deployments.
  • Harden and configure systems across Windows, Linux, and iOS platforms.
  • Other duties as assigned.


QUALIFICATIONS:


Education:



  • High school diploma or equivalent, required. Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field, preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in cybersecurity, with at least 2 years focused on cloud security.
  • Strong understanding of core security fundamentals, principles, and best practices.
  • Proficiency in network protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, BGP, OSPF) and security technologies.
  • Experience with containerization and orchestration technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).



Certifications:



  • AWS Certified Security - Specialty (Required)
  • CCNA/CCNP (Cisco)
  • CompTIA Security+, CySA+, or CASP+
  • Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH)
  • CISSP or CCSP

Company equipment(laptop, monitor, keyboard, mouse headset) will be provided directly to you for use during employment.
