Biorepository Technician Job Responsibilities: 
 
   
 - Ensures that all areas of the Biorepository are following all required regulatory and accrediting agencies. 
 - Maintains a climate of compliance/quality within the biorepository to assure highest quality of laboratory processing. 
 - Offers consultations for new projects and act as subject matter expert for project planning.
 - Designs and executes laboratory experiments, be responsible for data generation, assay optimization/validation. 
 - Develops and manages policies, procedures, processes, and protocols for biobanking services that support the research community including tissue handling, quality control (QC) work, and access to biospecimens.
 - Works actively with study teams across all Service Lines to support their needs with biobanking services.
 - Responsible for receiving, unpacking, accessioning, aliquoting and inventorying biospecimens.
 - Establishes and updates various databases for clinical sample tracking.
 - Other duties as assigned
 
  
 
 
Minimum Qualifications: 
 
   
 - Minimum Education: Bachelor's degree in related field (or relevant experience in lieu of degree equivalent to 4 years)
 - Years of Experience: 2 years of experience in a biorepository or laboratory
 - Certification Upon Start:
  
  
     
   - Pertinent research certification and human research protections training(Collaborative Institutional Training Initiative Program , National Institute of Health) 1 month upon hire.
 - Basic Life Support. New hires within 3 months. Current TMs within 6 months of 9/12/2023
