Sr. Mechanical Design Engineer

Job Purpose:

The senior-level Mechanical Design Engineer will participate in the mechanical development of data storage and server systems consisting of numerous hard drives with high speed communication interfaces. The project teams consist of cross-functional personnel and as a member your creative thinking and judgment will contribute to the overall resolution of technical, logistical, cost, and schedule issues for the program.

Nature of Duties/Responsibilities:

* Advanced level design work - participate in various server and storage enclosures and sub-assemblies designs including

• sheet metal
• plastic design
• Drive mounting and carrier design
• Focus on tolerancing, usability, reuse, manufacturability, materials

* Perform design simulations to ensure "right-the-first-time" designs.

* Transport rack and crate design, prototype and validation

* Component drawing and BOM system creation

* Mechanical execution of tests and publication of test results

* Work with outside suppliers as necessary to meet cost targets and schedules

* Contribute to design process enhancements.

* Domestic and international travel may be required support manufacturing and componentfabrication.

Education and Experience:

• BSME degree

• Working knowledge of GPUs and common GPU deployment models
• Experience designing enclosures to support GPUs up to 600W in power
• Working understanding and knowledge of GPU design tradeoffs to include power, thermals, performance, signal integrity, etc.

• Minimum of 8 years of related experience
• Self-starter
• Can-do attitude

Salary Range(annual): $115,000 - $140,000

Actual base pay within this range (determined at the offer stage) will be based on a candidate's years of relevant work experience, education, certifications, and skills, and is just one element of our total rewards package. The total rewards package also includes a variety of benefits, including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business and, depending on the role, may include eligibility for restricted stock unit awards and participation in a discretionary bonus program.
