What this position entails At IntelliScript, we are never comfortable with the status quo. We have taken several products through the market adoption curve and expect more to follow. We pursue opportunities for new growth, and expand into new processes, businesses and markets. Our product suite combines leading edge data, analytics, reporting engines, predictive models, clinical expertise, and technical expertise - all of which can be used to identify, create and pursue new business development (BD) opportunities. Working with the Director of Business Development, BD Sales Consultants, BD Analyst and various internal experts, the Business Innovation Consultant (BIC) identifies, pursues and supports new products and services across various markets and industries. In this highly strategic role, the BIC will be stretched and challenged to continually learn new concepts, and adapt to new environments and support new market opportunities. - Facilitate "blue sky" new product generation and innovation
- Diversify our revenue stream by identifying new opportunities and developing new solutions outside the insurance industry (including life sciences, legal and other new ventures).
- Listen to clients, prospects and potential partners; probe deeper to understand true business needs (i.e. opportunities); build scalable solutions collaboratively; develop studies that will help them to evaluate our BD products
- Communicate with companies, industry leaders and experts to research the viability of new BD ideas
- Engage other IntelliScript business units throughout the BD cycle; advise our internal experts on the best way to illustrate value proposition for new clients and opportunities
- Advise leadership on Milliman mergers and acquisition activities to evaluate inorganic growth opportunities and make recommendations on a firm-wide M&A framework.
- Ensure the smooth transition of new products from BD to Sales and Product Management
- Seek knowledge of current and relevant political, legislative, and market conditions for our new ventures, and be able to translate information into potential customer business needs
- Develop and build from a solid understanding of all IntelliScript business solutions, product offerings, clients, partners, areas of expertise, capabilities and resources
What we need
- Bachelor's Degree in, economics, mathematics, or other field with quantitative course work
- 5 or more years of professional experience in entrepreneurial business development, sales and/or product development roles
- Proven experience developing new products for existing and new markets
- Past experience and continued ability to travel nationwide

Location The expected application deadline for this job is August 8, 2025. This position is open to remote work. Applicants must be willing to travel to the Milliman office in Brookfield, WI as needed and travel nationwide for meetings, conferences, and team events (up to 20%). Compensation The overall salary range for this role is $165,100 - $326,760. For candidates residing in:
- Alaska, California, Connecticut, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Virginia, Washington, or the District of Columbia the salary range is $181,610 - $299,530.
- New York City, Newark, San Jose, or San Francisco the salary range is $198,120 - $326,760.
- All other locations the salary range is $165,100 - $272,300.
