Position description

The UC Irvine Department of Otolaryngology seeks a full-time assistant, associate researcher with experience in designing and conducting experiments, managing research activities, mentoring lab members, and contributing to scientific communication and grant development. The successful candidate should have experience with OCT, auditory measurements, and physiological recording techniques and proficiency in MATLAB and quantitative data analysis.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Design, conduct, and analyze experiments using methods such as Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT), evoked potentials, micro-pressure sensors, and otoacoustic emissions.

Lead development of the OCT system and analyze data using MATLAB.

Present findings at conferences and assist in manuscript and grant preparation.

Train lab members and ensure adherence to lab safety and research compliance protocols.

Perform routine lab procedures and maintain research documentation and equipment.

Qualifications
Basic qualifications (required at time of application)

Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering, Neuroscience, Audiology, or a related field.
